Not to get too personal, but I presume there’s something about your job that lead you to interact with them? Surely not just coincidental......One on one situations...
Billy Donovan
Rick Pitino
Calipari
Travis Ford
Scott Padgett (next door neighbor during pro career)
Michael Jordan
Kevin Costner
Whitney Houston
A certain not-so-popular President (before becoming President)
Not gonna kiss and tell tho..
Funniest was Donovan.

That's a great story, thanks for sharing. At that time my dad had seats on the first row of section 226. UK was playing Vandy and a few minutes into the game a group of about 6 people come and sat on the opposite end of our same row. Those first few rows are shorter than the ones above where you walk in. Anyway, as soon as they came in we recognized the man as Ali.
Dad suggested that we (I had a friend with me) get his autograph. We went and grabbed a copy of the Kernel that they had there in the concourse, walked over to his seat and asked for his autograph. Still to this day the only autograph I've ever gotten and I still have it. I reached out to shake his hand and Ali drew his fist back and bit his bottom lip...then gave a big smile and shook my hand. The man had huge hands.
He didn't stay long as I recall...maybe to the end of the quarter and then was gone. No idea why he was there.
Up to that time I had always been a Frazier guy. Seems everyone was either an Ali fan or Frazier fan. Never gave Frazier a second thought afterwards. In fact, his next fight at that time was Ali-Frazier 2.
While I worked at the U.S. Army Space and Missile Defense Command, one of my commanding Generals was Brigadier General Robert Stewart, the army astronaut who was the first man to do an untethered walk in space. He is a people person who loves technology. He would come into the work areas and talk to us physicists and engineers about the programs we were managing.
I once gave a briefing at a meeting where Lowell Wood, an associate of Edward Teller, was in attendance. He napped during some of the briefings so I am not sure he was awake during mine. Teller was the one who convinced Ronald Regan to start the program that became known as "Star Wars", and Wood was heavily involved In that program.
Teller convinced Reagan a weapon, the x-ray laser, could be developed that could destroy incoming missiles at the speed of light. Reagan started star wars. The x-ray laser was never developed but other chemical and electrical lasers were as well as advanced defensive missiles, sensors, radars and optical systems. Many of these advanced systems are in the field or soon will be. Trying to keep up with the U.S. in laser and missile systems was one of the factors in the fall of the Soviet Union. They were running out of money.Amazing! Teller is a hero of mine. Got to meet his grandson once. Seems like genius runs in the family
