What has to change for us to start getting difference makers at WR?

This staff has proven time and time again, that for what ever reason, they struggle to get difference makers at this position. Its really getting ridiculous.

Having a good QB isn't he answer because Ole Miss and LSU don't usually have good QBs and they do just fine at this position. I really can't figure it out as to why we can't recruit this position. FWIW, we do seem to get good WRs interested in our program, thats why we come in 2nd place for them so often.

Why can't we close the deal with these guys? Don't say money, because I don't think UGA fans cared enough about Rumph to want to pay him. This stuff is literally keeping us from taking the next step, Its right in front of our eyes time and time again.

Continue to play offense like we currently do. Just look a QB production at State over the last 30 years.

1 Putting some lesser receivers in the pros.

2. Having more than 1 season of average passing stats.

The flip side is how many schools, never worry about RB production? We don't. How many schools have their last 3 starting RB's in the league right now.

Norwood started for much of 2003 and up to 2005, went to the league and is now beyond NFL RB life span. Dixon started for five games in 2006 and was the starter until 2009. Ballard (I assume you meant Ballard rather than Perkins), started in 2010 and 2011 and is doing well with the Colts. And here we are now with Perkins. So, yes, our last three starting RBs are (or were, in Norwood's case) in the league.

I'd argue that we already have a few guys head and shoulders better than we've gotten previously in this recruiting class coming out of highschool. Lots of potential in those guys. What we lack is the immediate impact guy out of JUCO... of which there are only a handful in the country every year. Got to hope Brewster can get Morrow and maybe one of the FR ready to go immediately...

If you don`t think that Georgia has a network of supporters that "helps" coaches recruit in certain situations if needed you are fooling yourself. Every school does. Now that may not be what got this kid but I`ll assure you it was available if his recruiter needed it.

mississippi is going to have to start producing more of them........

we have some good ones on the roster now, at least good compared to the croom error receivers. couple of 4 star guys in bumphis and morrow. we haven't had that very much. just going to have to keep doing it until one pans out, then we start getting the elite ones.

no matter how we shake it, rumph is from south carolina so unless we pulled a rabbit out of a hat, he's going closer to home. we never would have had a shot had this guy not been in a ms juco, remember that.

True, but for the guys instate we have got to reverse the trend of most of them going to OM. Just like 2 years ago when we got Morrow but in the same year OM got Moncrief, Brassell and Singleton. Granted 2 of those 3 haven't helped yet but Brassell will be back next year and I really believe if we had gotten Singleton he would have been a contributor at State. And this has been a rather long term trend that the majority of WR recruits in the state gravitate more to OM because historically they have had more passing oriented offenses as compared to ours. Pulling Scott Austin was good but overall there don't seem to be many SEC caliber WR prospects in MS this year.

There are tons of WR prospects in Texas and most of the schools are already running an offense similar to Dan's. There are some real quality players left over after UT and OU get their guys.

Downside is that it would take quite a bite out of our recruiting budget though to chase after the kids here.

its all a moot point. We here are all more interested in college football. Tell me, why is every damn Ole Miss NFL player a bugger success in the league than they were in college?

Answer: because Ole Miss sucks. Those players were going to the league regardless. They should have come to MSU where they could be winners and win championships.

If Moncrief was here we are probably a BCS team. That deep threat is all we are missing. Instead, he is another underachieving Ole Miss rebel who will be 10x better in the league than he was in college. And likewise, rebel fans will like him 10x more once he's playing for the Packers or some such.

The rest of your stupid rant is hilarious. Clearly we are the scum of the Earth and will never, ever be successful at any point in the future because Miss State prepares its players for imaginary championships with 3 SEC losses. I'm not sure how Moncrief would help your defense stop someone but I'm sure your extreme intelligence can figure it out.
