Since Stoops took over the D, I know it is early in this game but last week the D looked better and tonight the D looks better.You know as a coach your watching the wrong coverages being called players not lining up, ect.ect Why did it take Stoops 4 years to take the D over. Brooks did the same thing with the offensive coordinator Ron Hudson.

It's not that simple. He wasn't just watching the defense line up wrong or in wrong coverages. Calling defenses is as much about intuition and getting in a groove as it is reacting to the situation and offensive personnel. Maybe Elliot is a master at calling defenses based on what he sees in the offensive formation, but Stoops is better at "calling the game" and some combination of the two coaches working together is the best. It's so hard to tell.
