In fairness to Forrest he just ran one back 80 yds. V an arch rival to put UK up 20 to zip in the 1st quarter.
That play kept UK in the game until late into the 4th.
Should he have heaved the ball? No. But lets not act like it was done after a simple tackle in a 0-0 gm v Chattanoga.

Louisville was reeling and the Cats had all the momentum in the world. Forrest's bonehead penalty enabled U of L to score a quick TD on a short field to stem the tide and gather themselves. My thought at the time: "Damn, can we at least act like we have been there before? This will come back to bite us".

And we should at least mention the fluttering wounded duck of a deflected pass that hit Forrest in the chest, deep in Louisville territory ... only he was not looking and the ball fell to the ground. That was another huge play.

It was a selfish play that he had no reason for doing. A Sr. should know a game is very long and giving away 15 yards was the start of Kentucky giving the game away AGAIN! That was as stupid of a play as Harmon's penalty on the punt return. That's poor discipline and a sign of poor coaching.

Exactly they hadn't moved the ball at that point. So instead of making them go 80 yards, we made then only go 55 yards. That score settled them down. If we force another 3 & out at that point by making them go all the way down the field, that may have completely destroyed their will

Blame the defense. Forest is one of the bright spots on the defense.

^^^^^^ bullcrap......you don't do that crap in the first quarter.....too much football to be played....sometimes you have to play smart to win...that was an extremely dumb play and gave uofl a short field and life....basically negated his own play.
