What if LSU beats Bama and Ark Beats LSU?

I've got a question/scenario for the board..<div>
</div><div>Lets say that LSU beats Bama on Nov 5..bama goes on to win out and finish 7-1..then, Arkansas, who has played LSU well lately in the last game of the year, upsets LSU at home and they also finish 7-1 and would be winners of 9 straight games since getting dismantled by Bama in September..</div><div>
</div><div>you then have three 7-1 teams sitting atop the SEC west..my question to the board is 1) who wins the tie-breakers in said scenario and 2) which of the 3 teams is most deserving of national title contention? Would Arkansas not be the most favorable team to be in the national championship picture since they haven't lost since the 4th game of the season?</div><div>
</div><div>What say you?</div>

its not like ark has some world beaters standing in front of them..they have to beat these ****** teams<span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-family: arial, sans-serif; font-size: 13px; background-color: rgb(255, 255, 255); ">@ vandy, vs south car, vs tenn, vs ms state..so that basically means that LSU has to beat bama, which is highly probable and the ark has to upset LSU, who they have beaten 3 out of the last 4 times..</span>

and finished at 11-1.... and Oregon beats Stanford and VaTech or USCe beats Clemson and OU beats OkState....

We'd have 13-0 Bama at BCS #1 and then the BCS formula would determine #2 from the following 11-1 (or 12-1) teams:
1) LSU
2) Stanford
3) Clemson
4) OU
5) Ok-State
6) Oregon

Can anyone here make a good argument that any of the other teams deserve to be BCS #2 over LSU? I cannot.

Edited to add: Oregon as an 11-1 team.

And who would that be? Who knows, but probably not Arkansas, simply because that's not who the SEC would want there.

Either way, if it does happen, there's no legitimate argument that the LSU-Bama loserwouldn't deserve a rematch. However, I bet Boise would get it simply because the poll voters would refuse to vote for a 1-loss LSU-Bama team over an undefeated Boise team.

3 or more teams
1. (Once the tie has been reduced to two teams, go to the two-team tie-breaker format.)
2. Combined head-to-head record among the tied teams.
3. Record of the tied teams within the division.
4. Head-to-head competition vs. the team within the division with the best overall (divisional and non-divisional) Conference record and proceeding through the division. Multiple ties within the division will be broken from first to last.
5. Overall record vs. non-division teams.
6. Combined record vs. all common non-divisional teams.
7. Record vs. common non-divisional team with the best overall Conference (divisional and non-divisional) record and proceeding through other common non-divisional teams based on their order of finish within their division.
8. The tied team with the highest ranking in the Bowl Championship Series Standings following the last weekend of regular-season games shall be the divisional representative in the SEC Championship Game, unless the second of the tied teams is ranked within five-or-fewer places of the highest ranked tied team. In this case, the head-to-head results of the top two ranked tied teams shall determine the representative in the SEC Championship Game.

2 team tie
1. Head-to-head competition between the two tied teams.
2. Records of the tied teams within the division.
3. Head-to-head competition vs. the team within the division with the best overall record (divisional and non-divisional) Conference record and proceeding through the division. Multiple ties within the division will be broken from first to last.
4. Overall record vs. all common non-divisional opponents.
5. Combined record vs. all common non-divisional teams.
6. Record vs. common non-divisional team with the best overall Conference (divisional and non-divisional) record and proceeding through other common non-divisional teams based on their order of finish within their division.
7. The tied team with the highest ranking in the Bowl Championship Series Standings following the last weekend of regular-season games shall be the divisional representative in the SEC Championship Game

so i guess the BCS will determine the SEC WEST if they all finish 7-1

Well sort of. In this scenario of all three having one loss, someone would be ranked highest in the BCS. For grins, let's say that is Alabama. Say they are #2 in the final BCS behind undefeated Oklahoma State (who the computers love so far). Well if LSU finishes the final BCS at #7, and as long as Arkansas is behind them (even though they just beat them), then LSU by virtue of their win over Alabama would go to Atlanta.
