it is simply not true a yard is a yard - being a dominate rushing team wears down a defense much more - it demoralizes a defense on long drives. It controls the clock and is not as dependent on having a top flight QB on his game week in week out

Most championship teams run the ball very well - yes occasionally a team can have dominate passing game - but the formula for success is a dominate defense and and a hard nosed running game

Do you mean "dominant" defense? That I agree with.

I think tolerate-accept-satisfied with has to be 7-8-9 for me. Keep the momentum going, maybe even make a splash if some of the young pups turn out and the QB makes better decisions.

That's how I interpreted it as well. This has been a hot topic at work all summer and nobody has found a link where Riley says he wants to run it more. Took one of my assistants to lunch today and I brought this up, he's a member on 2 or 3 message boards, heavily active in one of them. He took about 15 minutes on his phone trying to find an article where Riley is quoted as saying it without any luck.
