...when your wife/so/girlfriend who isn't into material stuff or Valentines Day says she doesn't want or need anything for Christmas. Also discuss any ties to the Relations thread.

With 1.5 shopping days left, I'll hang up and listen.

You gotta start 4 months out and pick up on something, ANYTHING, that she mentions offhand. Not even hinting at wanting it as a gift, just a random "Oh Id like to have one of those"

My gf is the same way and I have trained myself to pick these things up because they dont happen often. Then on Christmas, Valentines, Birthday she remembers liking that thing 2 months ago....... Which leads to relations/

it's a trick

if she says to not get her anything and she actually means it, is say you've got worse problems on your hands

if she gets mad because you got her something, then... that just sounds like a bizzle.

Deepest crap I ever got in to was believing my wife when she said she didn't want anything.

Definitely a trick. Since you're so short on time, I would go the gift card route plus make a personalized bouquet of flowers from Kroger. Doesn't matter if it looks terrible b/c it covers the "personal" part of the gift. I have no idea why women play these mind tricks. If you really wanna go ghey and get mucho relations make some kind of collage of all your favorite pictures. Michaels has those frames for multiple pictures everywhere.

Start sex

and hour before 12:00 AM on the 24th and end an hour after 12:00 AM and just when you finish say "Merry Christmas" roll over and go to sleep.

Then have her something really nice for in the morning.

Listen closely young padiwan pups. SwampDawg speaketh the Truth.

He does speaketh the truth.

When your woman tells you she doesn't want anything, she means that she doesn't want to TELL YOU what to get and will be waiting to see what you come up with. If your answer is nothing, then that's bad. If it's a practical gift, that's nearly as bad as nothing. I had a friend buy his wife a riding mower that she had been hinting at and got promptly thrown out the house. Nice new John Deere and found himself sitting outside. Don't do it.

Buy her something nice and girly and be done with it. Jewelry is always nice.

"I don't want anything for Christmas" is a woman's way for saying "you look like a dumb SOB and I'd like to see if you are as stupid as you look".

Please find her something......a dear friend of mine was once caught on a local Walgreens at 8:55 PM on Christmas Eve frantically shopping for his wife.

Stop buying gifts. That's what I did. We both decided what's the point? The money is coming from the same account. We just watch for sales and buy what we want then.

Go in w/ a friend (or solo can work) and get gift card/certificates for her and her best friend for a mani/pedicure, lunch, a movie, and have a bottle of wine waiting when she gets home. Have some new lingerie, just a thong, etc for her when she arrives home and bingo Relations GUARANTEED, for more than just that day too. The friend part guarantees you and your friend a day out to do whatever the hell you want w/out any chores to do at home.

My wife was pulling the same crap but last night she finally cracked and told me old her camera was giving her trouble. Headed to Best Buy today to try to score a Nikon D3100 (replacing D50). ...they all want something for Christmas.

Added: Where to go if Best Buy is out ?

It's a trap! This ancient Jedi mind trick

has been used by women for eons. You have to ask her inner circle of friends and/or family for ideas. She's a woman, they all want something. Can never go wrong with jewelry. Other women will know the hot things to get. Your on the clock. Good luck.

I think the D3200 is the camera you'll be asking for and they might have it at Wal-Mart. Might. You're probably SOL.

Been married for 25 years. My wife is the same way about everything. Here's what I do: buy whatever you think she will really like, wrap it, and give it to her. You can always apologize later.

Bought my wife a gun safe that holds 48 guns. It was on sale for $629. She would also probably enjoy an AR - 15 or high capacity handgun.
