I know that this guy prefaces this post with 'I don't want this to sound like spur grapes', but this TOTALLY sounds like sour grapes. Why are they so concerned with what our team does on the bench? http://www.pure-orange.net/cgi-bin/...d=get&cG=7323936383&zu=3732393638&v=2&gV=0&p=

I think this is what the post is really about ^^^

Holy ****, is that a Prodigy chat room?

I thought Oregon was progressive. It's 2013 - get a decent message board.

There are 7 replies and only one agrees with the original poster; one sorta half agrees with him; and another is indeterminate (the one about moose antlers ... I have no idea what he's talking about). So there are 4.5 posters who agree it's "just him" and the dugout antics are acceptable.

Don't worry about what they think. Personally, I don't like the "Grindin'" thing either (I think it sounds stupid) but it's caught on with our teams and the fanbase, so who am I to tell them what to do?

"Grindin"?..is that a variation of the word "grinding" and if so, there must be some connotation in the wide wide world of sports

I assume that yes, "grindin'" means "grinding"

and is the colloquial pronunciation of the word, with the popular habit in many words of dropping the sound of the "g" in "ing".

Beyond that, I have no idea whether it has any common usage in the wide world of sports or not. I certainly never heard it used as a sports term before it started, I believe, with one or more of our football players.

Here's a pretty funny quote from that thread:

I see a cocky, confident group that acts like, "we played in the SEC tournament and thats way tougher than this dinky four team weak sister of a CWS bracket." makes u want to throw up a little in your bran flakes. Thats what happens when u win the first 2 games at the CWS 5-4/5-4.

I really think teams from other conferences play up the whole "SEC teams think they're better than us" thing more than it actually exists. If those morons actually believe that our team actually sits in the dugout and thinks to do the crazy bench stuff just because they are an overconfident SEC team, then they need a serious reality check. Non-SEC fans seem to have some kind of inferiority complex to SEC teams, because they are constantly playing up the "cocky SEC team" card when it just doesn't apply.

They're just mad they are not at Omaha yelling that stupid "Lets go Beavers" chant. I sure am glad our mascot isn't the 17n Beavers.

I have been saving that one and hoping that Lettuce didn't beat me to it when the time was right.

Like my late Father used to say, "17 those Yankees!"

Even though he spent the majority of his life in Chicago and mid Wisconsin he never forgot his Mississippi roots.

"My personal feeling is that they are destined to lose two straight to the Beavs, providing that we get it done on Wednesday against Indiana."

Hahahahaha. Personal feeling.
