What you need to do and I trust Donati is doing is, measuring Beamer against his peers.
Josh Heupel was hired the same year that Beamer was. Heupel's records are:
7-6
11-2
9-4
10-3
7-3
Eli Drinkwitz from Year 4 at his time in Missouri to current:
11-2
10-3
7-3 thus far
Lane Kiffin from Year 4 at his time at Ole Miss to current:
11-2
10-3
10-1 thus far
Shane Beamer, hired the same year as Heupel:
7-6
8-5
5-7
9-4 (year 4)
3-7 thus far
Beamer's 5th year SEC record is the worst in 10 years. He is not keeping up with his peers. His peers by their 4th years not only had their programs in a respectable place, BUT THEY KEPT IT GOING.
Someone named Joseph Griffin, who owns "The Carolina View" thinks Beamer will get one more year. Griffin says Beamer must make the playoffs next year "or bust"'.
I really, really don't believe Carolina will make the playoffs next year. Thus, going by Griffin's measuring stick, Beamer will be fired after next season. My view is that, comparing Beamer to his peers, he is not Head Coach material. Thus, he will be fired next year. But, I have the same perspective as the late Secretary Of State Henry Kissinger had, who once said:
"Whatever must happen ultimately should happen immediately".
Consequently, I think Beamer should be fired in 2 weeks. But, I don't always get what I want.
