I like our chances of scoring a lot better with runners at 2nd and 3rd and no outs than our catcher trying to score from first. That was a poor decision, but you just keep on defending it.</p>

that has been made repeatedly this season. No defense is "pressured" by a running catcher. Stupid decision. Period.

I'm not defending it, I'm just trying to offer an explanation on the coaches view. While I agree that in most circumstances you hold him, I just think that Burroughs figured "what the hell" based on the previous inning. Also, you do put pressure on the d to execute by sending him. If they don't (misread, bad throw, etc) we score. I'm just trying to look at it from the coaches (the guy whose job is to make these decisions) perspective...and yes sometimes they are wrong.
