If they don't mind playing in front of 25,000 people at home that's fine, I'll be watching on TV if Flood returns…no big deal.
Are you going to give up your season tickets or just sell them until you see some change? A lot of people are talking about dumping tickets, but will they really do it? When/if things turn around and you want to come back you're gonna have to go to the back of the line to get seats. Correct?

Another thing the makes me laugh is the people on this board who say the threat of a huge drop in ticket sales is going to influence the $$ and the decision.

Who are people kidding. The amount of ticket sales in the upper decks may drop but most people in the “higher donation required seats” are going to keep on giving and keep on going if they want to retain the good seats they have invested so many years in. After one losing year, you think people are going to give up their seats with the possibility of losing them to someone else? I know I am not… If myself and tens of thousands of others stuck it out through the Shea years and the early Schiano years in order to not give up their good seat locations, you really think one losing year is going to cause a mass exodus? Not likely at all. The administration knows this. Or maybe I have it all wrong…. “Those in the I want it now generation” might be so impatient that they will bail out. I’ve been waiting for someone to vacate a seat around me for 7 years now, in order to buy one more with my group. Maybe this will be the year. But highly unlikely… since these are the people that have stuck it out through all the Shea years with me.

Styler - You failed to point out that the football team trashed the reputation of our school this year; head coach and players.

Yeah, I signed up for this rivals account in 2002.. knowing that 3 or four years later Flood would be hired and 11 years later Julie would be hired so I could covertly post messages in defense of both of them. You caught me. !!

Notice how I mentioned RU athletics. Athletic departments keep social media accounts... even long-term.

Ha, but trust me, it'd be better for you to be a sleeper agent or just personally close to one of the offended, than having these idiotic thoughts on your own.

Why is it an epic meltdown by Indiana and not an epic meltdown of RU in the first half. Or a fantastic effort in 2h. You can spin anything to fit the narrative you want. And it was on the road this year as well.
It was an epic meltdown because it was propelled by a snap over the punters head and the QB then chucked up a completely ill advised pass to throw a pic up six when they should have been running. It was a great effort in fourth by our guys, but we should have never been down by 25 in that game.

I have been in 124 since 1995. I started with 2 seats, had no mandatory seat donation (yes, I gave anyway) and parked in the yellow lot. My annual nut was around $500 a season. I now have 5 seats, but keeping the math the same, those same 2 seats now run me around $1200 and I park in the purple lot.

The message has always been 'that's the price of being big time', which I always agreed with- even adding 3 seats. Unfortunately, our team is not big time. We are a tough watch. I hung in there all those years when we were terrible because I had hope for better days and it wasn't really that expensive. My steadfastness was rewarded with the excitement of the Schiano years. I suspect my story is not unique.

Which brings us to now. I feel like I am back to the Shea days. I am not hopeful and it is no longer inexpensive. I have been down on Flood for a long time, but figured I could wait him out and be able to get my money back for tickets that weren't used because of the big name teams that would now be on the schedule. Surely, gone were the days of eating tickets. But, I just had to sell 2 of my Nebraska tickets for $50 total. I am willing to pay up for hope, but I'm not going to pay over $3000 for what is being purported as big time football.

You may be right and most people will continue to go because they have years invested and don't want to lose their equity. I will take the other side of that bet. If they keep Flood, I think you will see a major drop in renewals. We'll see.

You will be back. Just like 99% of us to likely watch flood coach an improved version of the scarlet knights next year

I may keep 2 tickets, haven't decided yet, but minimum giving up 3. Why should I make such a big commitment to a team that is clearly not committed to winning? I can buy tickets on the exchange board or StubHub if I want to see a game.

[laughing] An offense minus Carroo and maintaining Laviano as the starter has a statistically insignificant chance of being improved. As for the defense, the DBs and Linebackers may improve from sheer experience, but continuing defective schemes and techniques won't help against top-tier teams.

[roll]Predicting that 99% of the current fanbase (which is shrinking by the game) will be back next season to watch a Flood-coached Rutgers team

You've GOT to be a family member or the biggest troll in this board's long history of trolls. One or the other, which is it, tell us?

without Carroo, maybe Rettig (or someone else) will actually get a shot. We know how well Laviano does without him. Maybe he won't even look good enough in practice to keep his job..

Haven't thought about it, I've already informed my people at RU I will not be back if Flood is coach. I worked with the same people I informed raising money for the Fred Hill Complex.
I have no worries about getting good seats again when a new coach is introduced

Influence of membership in B1G on recruiting has largely not hit the field yet.

Nov 2012 entry to B1G

Feb 2013 Very little to no influence from being in B1G on Feb 2013 signing day class and 2013 and following Seasons.

Feb 2014, HS Seniors have had only 1 yr to absorb RU to B1g.. so only moderate influence on recruiting This class were True Frosh & redshirted in 2014 Season, and Redshirts Fr & sophs in 2015 season – So only marginal influence on the field in either 2014 or 2015 should be expected from B1G recruiting in this class

Feb 2015. B1G influence on recruits should start to take hold, but not Fully .. kids from this class are only True Frosh and redshirts during 2015 season so influence from this First B1G class would largely not be seen until 2016 and more in 17&18

Sept 2015, 6 players arrested, including the one Foold stuck his neck out for in order to prevent the kid from failing Dance Appreciation.

Well a win over Army and Maryland is enough ammunition for Barchi and the professors to browbeat Herman into submission. Under this scenario I would expect him to be here another year. If he splits the last two games it will be a toss of the coin, if he loses both games he's gone. I feel that some guys feel like this no money talk is BS but I know for a fact that when the medical school merger went into full effect Rutgers truly f$&@ed up the conversion process of restricted and unrestricted programs which needed an immediate 5 million dollar band aide. There are three departments working in unison trying to fix these issues. I hear the real number is estimated at 20 million plus. Again, while Christie is governor he is able to provide cover by keeping the Inspector General and NJ State Auditors at bay. There's two years left to fix this mess. So, until all this crap is resolved the school cannot honestly dedicate significant dollars to a HC, DC/OC and assistants.

OP has an agenda. Defend the current staff and QB, I don't know why? I assume he is personally related to someone he is trying to protect. Heck it might be Flood himself.

Agree. This poster is so completely over the top and relentless in his defense of the indefensible that's he's got to have some kind of connection to the Flood family, whether that's as a relative, a close friend, neighbor, whatever.

He could, of course, simply just be a troll too, but I doubt it. He seems way too personally invested in this to simply be one of those. He comes off as sounding as if he thinks KF is the second coming of Vince Lombardi, which is absolutely ridiculous, because, hell, when it comes to coaching ability, Flood's a lot closer to Guy Lombardo than Vince Lombardi.

Please, let us NOT see what happens. There is no way Flood will ever have us reach a consistent high level of achievement in the B1G. Zero. Unless we are content with mediocrity, he has to go. Once that is realized, the sooner the better.

This is my biggest fear for our program. Can't vouch for your merger figures but I don't doubt them either; that screams 'Rutgers'.
