but the chorus - wow.

Edit to say - Overall, it's not that bad. I just hope we don't get a video like that Ole Miss rap song.

one of my favorites from that cd was "mirror mirror on the way, who's the crunkest of them all". **

After further reserch I think the person I got that cd called himself "infared", so either could be him or could be another nfared out there.

'Sholl Iz is a pretty damn good. And its a hella lot better than this nfared thing.

And you know good and damn well that the 50% or less of your inner dawg that doesn't like it would be all for it if the crowd got more into the "'sholl iz" shout-outs (think on the level of "maroon-white" or at least the "EMMM-ESS-YOOUUUUUUU" cheer)

Anybody want a mp3 of sholl iz - pm me.

No it is <17>ing stupid, and if the crowd ever starting yelling sholl iz or whatever the hell you say it would be the first step to me being done with the whole damn thing. There aren't many things I can think of that would make me stop donating and give up my tickets, but that would definitely be one of them. You can only take that **** so far.

Think big picture. If you got to dj dws what would you play? Garth Brooks, Steely Dan or some other old stuff when music was really music bs. I'm sure the team and the visiting recruits will enjoy it, and as long as we win ya'll complainers will come to games.

No wonder there is so much violence in rap: shoot them before a piece of crap like that comes forth.

You're defending rap, the lowest form of music ever invented. It constantly gives props to violence, drug abuse, etc. How's that Tupac, Notorious B.I.G, etc working out for you in the hood.

Zep, the Stones, Aerosmith... all have much nicer themes to their songs.

The Lemon Song?

Brown Sugar?

Love in an Elevator?

name me another music form in which other artists and record labels have killed other performers in their industry? I'm waiting? It is a gutter music form that preaches violence and then actively participates in it. When was the last time any other music form performers talked openly about killing police officers? I get music as a vehicle for questioning social issues and being cutting edge: this isn't it. As an industry it sells people on violence, quick money without responsibility, mistreatment of others and the personal destruction of the English language. Knowing all of this, you still, "like rap". You are the 17'ing idiot.

Hip hop was not started as a means of violence. Granted, there's too much of it on the radio but that's mainly because it's more marketable. Eventually it began to evolve to talk about social issues that other forms of music did not choose to go into such as violence on the streets whether you want to admit to it or not, it exists. With that being said, that's not the only type of subjects you typically find in hip hop. It's the only topic you're choosing to accept. I'm not going to post any links, but I'll give you a head start by telling you to look up guys such as Cunninlynguists, Atmosphere, Brother Ali, The Roots and Lupe Fiasco. Don't worry, I'll wait. If you can't follow most of their lyrics, they usually have them filled on other websites. I can help you with that too if you need help finding them.<div>
</div><div>Also, don't act like dark subjects is something solely on hip hop/rap. Johnny Cash, Metallica, Tool and Nine Inch Nails to name a few are other groups/artists outside of hip hop who have had some pretty dark lyrics at times. Some more than others.</div>

but I still will defend it to a degree. Not everything about it is that black and white though, and when you really get down to it, rap is basically hip hop but more commercial, so essentially they're the same.

Yea... I'm not so sure about that one. That's not something I'd insinuate when dealing with why someone doesn't like a particular genre of music or a pretty rough part of the state.

I've heard quite a few country songs that encourage violence, alcoholism, and infidelity. Yeah, doesn't mention killing cops but then again that left with the 90's in mainstream rap music.

Is it OK for Sinatra to be in bed with the mafia? Bruce Springsteen's State Trooper doesn't say it direct but insinuates a warning for the state trooper not to pull him over. Country lyrics seem like a mirror to rap. Cash - I took a shot of cocaine and I shot my woman down. Just listen to Cold Beer. I could go on for days about the morals insinuated in blues music the basis for rock. Classical? Carlo Gesualdo killed his wife and her lover and mutilated their bodies. Everybody knows that Salieri killed Mozart. But rap is more in your face and seems more confrontational for your liking?

Do I like rap? no.

personal destruction of the English language? I blame the internet and texting myself.

for the words. It's all about the beat and the image. Personally it's not my favorite but since it is extremely popular amongst the age group of recruits and students I do think it should see significant air time at sporting events.
