What will winning do to our recruiting?

We're coming off a 5-7 season and we'll probably be a top 30 class.

What will our recruiting rankings look like if we win6 games this year, 7? 8?
Ole Miss is coming off back to back Cotton Bowls and their class looks about the same. Will winning a couple more games actually get us better recruits?

maybe a little better. I don't get these comments where people are frustrated that OM has a better class...they SHOULD have a better class after two Cotton Bowls. The fact that there is such a little difference this year is not really a good thing for them at all and speaks to our staff's ability to recruit.

so are better recruiters or does winning just not really matter that much. Most of the kids that would come to State would come whether we win 5 or 7.

Will it really help us much if we win a couple more games. I can understand if we win 10 games, but will it really make a difference to go 7-5 or 8-4

We are top 25 in the nation already but still 5th or 6th in in our division. Thats just damn tough, not to be gloom and doom. A couple of more wins and we are in the top 15 recruiting and with our style of play and coaches, I think we will get all the top in state for sure

That is a bowl game. And a bowl game brings more recognition than staying home. Especially for out of state recruits.

the perception of our program from the past decade is actually much worse outside the state than inside. And that's where OM has done MUCH better than us lately. I do believe a few 7 or 8 win seasons would make it much easier to sway some of the out of state guys we need to really solidify our recruiting classes. I like having the foundation of our class be MS guys but we still need to sprinkle in around 8 to 10 QUALITY out of state guys to give our recruiting the depth of talent we need. Right now we MIGHT be getting 2 or 3 quality out-of-state guys and most of those are AL, LA guys just over the border or maybe the Memphis area. We appear to have lost our connections to getting GA players and I'm still surprised Mullen isn't recruiting FL more seriously.

I wouldn't worry too much about Ole Miss' recruiting. They've only signed one or two more highly recruited players than us each year, but they can't keep them on campus. Does it have anything to do with racism? I dint know. Just saying.

In state recruiting never has and never will be a problem for us. Out of state will improve greatly with our success on the field and the exposure. With Relf lighting it up this year, Blue-chip QB recruiting will take care of itself.

So you guys are going to start signing blue-chip qbs? The wool is thick around here, but that one may be the best one i have ever heard.

and the fact that our classes have been similarsince 2007 is very telling. I think Orgeron majorly won the battle in 2006, and you see what happened. And he found a QB. I think Mullen majorly won the battle in 2009, and I believe we'll have the better team for the next few years, and we've got some good young QBs in the stable. I know, the rankings, yada yada, but you see how it works out on paper after 1.5 years. Attrition with some players (Barksdale, Patterson) alot of hotshot out of staters get homesick (Drummond, Conner, Cotton) etc. etc. etc. Who cares the reason or the excuses Bruiser. Just facts - who sees the field - and right now we're ahead. I don't care about instate/outstate, that's nothing but a crowing point and a dumb one. You get the best players possible, and it's usually easier to do that instate. Not to mention, as the Kang says, playing for the home school means more to those guys.

So ANYWAY, it stands to reason that we won't get that much of an advantage from winning, at least instate. I think it gives you a little more appeal nationally or at least regionally.

Bounce him. He is either wildly hallucinating or is an utterlylost sheep. Send him back to the pasture.

I am not sure how much stock i put into the rep of Mullen. Yes, he has been involved with two very good qb's, but he wasn't the head coach. He may turn out to be a great recruiter and hc, but i don't know how you make the comment that blue chippers are all of a sudden going to be coming to State. If Mullen's rep was all it took to get those blue chippers in, wouldn't you have gotten one this year?

Sooner or later, one of his idiotic rants will become a 7 page SixpackSpeak Remembers. If we can keep around Coach34 for amusement, why not keep Bizarro Coach34. Maybe he's a douche salesman.
