The injured kid is a friend of my son's and his ankle is absolutely shattered. As a parent I would press charges and possibly more.
There will be those that say, well that's football. I say ********.

Anyone who says that's football is a GD douche. That's most definitely grounds for some hardcore street justice just after a quick search of the roster for a name.

That young man should be banned from participating in football by the High School Athletics Administration from the state that occurred in. His school should be made to pay for all medical bills and damages, etc. No place for that at ANY level. Certainly hope no permanent damage was done.

This is exactly what I would want done. That's just uncalled for, I could care less how much you might hate someone. But to tear the guys ankle up? This isn't the WWE/MMA

I'm not saying it isn't dirty b/c it clearly was. But it appears that the guy goes to clutch his opposite knee when going down (6 second mark). Also, a quick google search shows nothing in the news regarding the incident.

If you look at the 11 and 12 second mark, you can see the player grasp/moan when his knee bends backward. You also see him grab the left knee in the replay at 17 seconds.

edited to change good to google

Keeping it quiet for now intentionally. Knowing some of the people involved -

The guy who originally filmed and edited it, mentioned in the link, has pretty strong media ties. This is being handled behind the scenes for now. There is no question that the shattering was caused by the kid. The initial injury is one thing, but the grabbing of the foot and rolling over on it, then pressing down with all of your weight is where the real damage occurred.

That appears to be criminal assault and civil battery to me.

On the non-legal side, the fat 17 should be kicked off the team and banned from competitive sports.

That's a good way of handling it.

Show him and his parents/coaches the tape. If the kid and his parents don't apologize or at least reimburse medical expenses, then hand it over to the media and make it a story. Although the kid deserves a good *** kicking, there's no need to publicize it unless they are stubborn and won't admit fault.

I'm not saying you don't know him or his family. But I try and not believe everything I hear and see on the internets. I find it hard to believe that video is out there and someone hasn't publicized it yet any any media (local media especially).

Again, he clutches the opposite knee/leg that the guy is twisting.

You could be right. I wasn't even there. My son just showed me the video before he left for school and I was like, if that was you out there, I'd want to kill the guy! That was why I posted it. I wanted to see what other peoples reactions would be if it was their son out there AND I was curious if things like this can be pursued legally.
He also showed me a picture where the guy admitted to it but he said something like, I did try to twist it then backed off. The video makes it look worse than it is. - Something like that.
For all we know it was handled to everyones satisfaction.

One thing I am certain of. If the owner of that video doesn't want the news to broadcast it or investigate, more than likely they do what he says.

Agreed, but then it wouldn't be on youtube. He also can't stop them from investigating ****. He can stop them from using his video (if he takes it off youtube) unless it becomes legal, and then he can be subpoenaed (correct use?).

Reminds me of this NT i played with in H.S. He was a sophomore and was 6'3 320 & we were playing Columbus and every damn time they tried anything in the A gap he would be fighting off a double tram with one arm and would just find a way to snatch down the RB trying to come through. That went on for 3 qtrs their G & C were verbals to ULL at that time. They were tired of being destroyed by this sophomore. So the 2nd play of the 4th the center stood him up and the guard cut him so 17ing hard when I went X stunt inside on the other side of the line I heard it crush like a stale dorrito chip. The kid never played football again. His knee cap was on the inside of his thigh and every bone in his leg was broken all ligaments snapped. I cried for that kid that night and I feel pretty ****** for the kid in this video. Football is brutal enough but when you have pussies like this guy it makes you want to do some bad ****.

But in looking closely at the video, the LEFT ankle is the one lying flat and the LEFT leg is the one he grabs. The player behind him appears to have fallen on the ankle. It lies much flatter on the ground as he tries to crawl. Which ankle is the one that shattered?

No sayin' that the player pulling on the right leg was innocent, just need to know which ankle before calling in a napalm strike.......

Rouse. I can believe it.

My kid plays for Canyon Ridge middle school, well he did till he had a partial tear of his ACL. Anyway, when he played these guys in 7th and 8th grade they played dirty and the fans were something right out of Baby Boo Boo.

If Coach Drew had seen this during game time I know the man would have went ballistic.

Seems that the left leg was the one injured. Scumbag was twisting the right.

Doesn't excuse the dirty play, but the injury happened before the video begins.

At least that's what I gather from this pic:

Regardless of which leg was injured, he's clearly trying to injure the right ankle, and is a horsehit move. My question is, what was the referee who is three feet away from what is going on looking at? It's not like they were in the pile, it was out in the open right in front of the guy.

I think they should ban the kid from playing football next year if he is injured to any degree. but also, why does the kid
lay there and take it? kind of odd that he doesn't even look back at him while hes getting his ankle shredded.
