Right there between Grand Junction and Gunnison is nice.
There are a couple of National Parks right there.
Including the Black Canyon of the Gunnison.

My place in up off of I-70 right before you get to the really beautiful parts of the Western Slope before the Eisenhower Tunnel.
I actually go up there every June to my place. The rest of the time I rent it out.

IMO the summer up there is better than the winter. But you find people who like the winter for the snow.
