8 wins with a win over Saban or 9 wins total to keep his job

I think they win at least 8 and take Saban down in BR...people are underestimating the people they have on defense...remember the name Mingo at DE- badass RS Freshman

I think he might be able to barely hang on with 8 wins (assuming 1 isn't over Saban).

for Bama...fortunately, we have an open date for that one... Bama should be prepared and be a 3 to 6 point favorite...

Other than the obvious (FLA and PSU), I'm sweating the game at SC...has all the signs of a "trap" game....

You might want to check LSU's history against Bama in Tiger Stadium. The Tide simply does not lose in Baton Rouge.

an extra week of for LSU like Bama has had the last 3 years will make a huge difference...Saban didnt get to T-Town and move their open date before LSU for no reason

he clearly said Bama would be the favorite over LSU by 3-6 points....so if they are, then I should get the points as well if we are going to bet

also, never guaranteed the outcome of the game (unlike you), I simply projected the line.

I'll make you 2 bets, then:

1) Bama wins SU
2) the line at KO will be bama 3-6

By the way- I'm 3-0 lifetime on these type of bets

Won vs Cowbell on State basketball 2006- he was supposed to wear a dress in the Hump but paid in beer instead
Won vs Ol Blew on Miles winning 10 games and the NC- he was supposed to leave the Board but just changed usernames awhile
Won vs Brutius on Michigan vs State total offense in 2008- he was sent to exile also but I gladly agreed for him to return

I think someone also needs to document C34 statement about LSU will bear Bama. I think he is right but I am not the one that is betting......

But anything less than 8 and he's done. Bama is going to win and how badly they win could effect his job even if they win 10. Saban is a GOD in BR.

LSU defense? Almost entire defense is new and some starters have never played a college snap.

The tricky part is if he only wins 9. If we assume that he loses to Bama and UF, the third loss and how it happens can be the kicker. If the third loss is an away game against AU or ARK I think he'll be fine. Or if he does get 9 with a win over Bama or UF he'll be fine. It's the tricky spot where it's a loss against Bama, UF, and perhaps UT or MSU that could be a sticking point. They also have a harder non-conference schedule than most SEC teams, but they're all home games so they should win. If one of their 3 losses is against Vandy or or ULM it's a definite firing for Miles.

Agree, Bama will be able to push them around a bit up front since LSU will be a little undersized this year on the DL. Levingston moved from DE to start at DT and is listed at under 270, Nevis is under 300, and the freshman ends like Mingo and Montgomery are very athletic and will be good pass rushers, but aren't big enough yet to play the run vs a physical OL like Bama's.

Can't believe some can't see through Miles yet. Hell, Croom could've won a national title or 2 with Saban's leftover roster to go with Pelini and Fisher as his coordinators

the changes they are making offensively will help them be better in 2010...with the 3 WR's they have, they will be able to throw it, and if Murphy can stay healthy, the running game should be ok.

Chavis is a solid DC. They have the best CB tandem and the best MLB in the SEC...and while they have some guys on D that are inexperienced, these guys are very talented. They are going to load the box, man up on Maize and whats-his-name, and make McElroy hurt them.

Having 2 weeks to get ready for Bama for the first time will also be huge for LSU. They will be rested and ready

we still might not throw the ball, though.Thejulio/patterson battle will be interesting...

I'm not sure their new guys on the DL are any better.... they certainly are smallish and young.

did you see what happened to their Run defense last year?

38 carries for 176 yards some outlandish performance by the Tide- that's less than 5 yards a carry....

And LSU was 4th in the SEC in run defense last year...

Bottom line- the game was in T-Town and had LSU gotten the ball on the interception from the 40 with 6 minutes left like they should have only down 6, it could have had a different ending...I think LSU will be better in 2010, while Bama will not be as good.

I should know better than to even speak to an Alabama fan...I think the damn 276 yards passing hurt more than the 176 yards rushing

The referees screwed up, LSU should have had the ball 60 yards away from the go ahead score with 6 minutes left...Slive comes through again

We'll see what happens this year
