I’m sure the official announcement will be after our season, but it will be leaked as soon as it is signed.

Whenever the hyper-moralistic do-gooders who run State decide is the "right" time. That time will correlate with the time that does us the most damage. All MSU decisions are this way.

I voted “other”.

A better way of saying it would be “it depends”, because the actual options cover nearly 100% of possibilities.

It ultimately depends on 3 factors:
1) HC or assistant that is hired
2) State’s end of season timing
3) The new hire’s current team season end timing.

If its an assistant that we’re hiring as HC, it’s simple and straighforward. They’ll announce it as soon as our season is over. The assistant will remain in his current role until his team is out. In parallel, he’ll start reaching out to recruits on our behalf and work the portal for us until his team is out.

If its a sitting head coach for another team, it will be announced after both MSU’s season and that coach’s season are over. 1-2 days later, max. That in theory could fall in any of the 3 windows above.

The only certainty is that nothing will be announced before MSU’s season is over.

4) MSU thinks it has a deal with a sitting Power 4 coach that makes it to Omaha, but that the deal goes to HELL & the process starts again after the CWS is over.
I have seen this movie.

That’s still going to fall into the category of “we’ll announce after MSU’s season and the new coach’s season is over”

And hell, if we make an Omaha run with this team, might not be the worst outcome, honestly.

Other:
5) Celebrating CWS win for a month or two before we give Parker the boot
or
6) Nobody we want wants to be our coach and Parker gets an offer to go elsewhere.

Right after all the high profile players in the portal have committed elsewhere

Never underestimate the ability of MSU Athletics to totally 17 up a coaching search.

I voted other simply because it doesn't lock down a specific timeframe. I also think the hire isn't contingent on what State either does or doesn't do in the postseason.
