With the impact of rev share on budgets uncertain, schools are less eager to pay buyouts and offer contracts to new coaches. They would rather kick the can until things are more clear.

It’s so big now with such high turnover that it seems like it’ll be incredibly rare going forward. I guessed 1991 to 1992 and it appears there weren’t coaching changes going into that season, but I have no idea if it’s happened since. Feels like at least 2-3 per year most years
