When will Mullens beat a Top 20 team?

Those are the years we get Auburn, Arkansas, and 2 out of the 3 East teamsat home. Those are much more realistic wins at home than LSU and Bama.We are going to always have a hard time beating LSU and Bama regardless of where we play them, so losses to them don't upset me in terms of expectations, and they won't for another 2 or 3 years when I expect us to have deeper teams. It's just not realistic to expect to beat them.

I think Auburn isa team we can really challenge. They have good recruiting classes, but I think the tide is really going to change when Malzahn leaves.

I can stomach 8-4 every year a lot better. That's a darn good year in the SEC, but if we do that every year, after awhile we are going to want even more- not that that's a bad thing.

6-6 every year is average/below average.

It wasn't until last year that our adminstration realized we need to play 4 horrible non-conference opponents. That factplus 12 regular season games doesn't give us a good comparison to any other era. Mullen is hopefully about to go 6-0 vs Ole Miss and UK and we are already 8-0 against our non-conference slate the last 2 years. I would expect any coach not named Sly Croom to consistenty win 6 games. Of course if Ole Miss gets a decent coach we will throw in some 5-7 every now and then too.

Florida didn't finish the year in the top 30 though, so Mullen is 1-14 vs top 25 teams if Auburn finishes inside the top 25 this year.

Mullen is going to have to take his head out of his *** and shed some ego if he wants to be taken seriously outside of Oxford. Hire the people you need to hire and trust them to make the right calls. Don't settle for GA's to coach your most liable position on the field...

He'll learn. I believe that. But we're going to rip our hair out for ~5 seasons while Mullen has his growing pains. He's a good coach who maybe should have gotten some experience in a situation like Coach Hud before going into a situation that you have to coach against Nick Saban, Les Miles, Bobby Petrino, Mark Richt, and Steve Spurrier year-in and year-out.

The SEC has its ebbs and flows. Right now we are simply very unfortunate to have Alabama, LSU, Arkansas, and Auburn to an extent all playing at a very high level. Meanwhile the east has major issues.
