When will the news trickle out?

When will we know one way or another?

Mind you this is not what I want to happen but what I think will happen.

Just like two years ago, I think the coach will announce staff changes Sunday afternoon signifying we're stuck with this overmatched fool for another year.

I think we get word sometime Sunday night what will happen on Monday. It wont be from this site, probably one of the other sites as there was some egg on the face last time this site had Flood out prematurely

If news is coming out, tune into Joe Schad's twitter. He seems to be the one most RU news is leaked to.

I'm hearing Flood is back for 1 more year. The team better do better next year, or could be his last.
Hearing from who? Not a name but in general the connection this person has. A booster? Someone inside the university?

If he's staying you might hear nothing at all.

He has three years left and generally there's no announcement that someone is staying especially with that many years left.

This would be a very RU "dmv-like" way to handle it.

If they do beat MD Saturday, nothing would be announced until the bowls are issued. If they get a bowl, nothing happens until the bowl game. If they win the bowl game, blah blah blah.
My guess is he's staying for another season.

This would be idiotic, to leave the recruits hanging without an official announcement.

Why would people expect next year's team to be any better? Laviano hasn't exactly improved and will be losing the only guy he throws to.

Unless they're betting the defense can't possibly be this bad three years in a row...

Bowl or no bowl, won't make a difference. Win or lose the bowl, won't make a difference. If he is the coach next Monday, he will be here next year.

I'm not sure why it's so hard for people to understand but there's absolutely no benefit for us to fire Flood until we have a replacement locked up & are ready to present it to the BOGs for the quick formal rubber stamp approval. We aren't conducting some grand national search & competing with USC, USCe & some others so there's no benefit to have a lengthy vacancy. Also, the regular season doesn't end until 12/5 & there may be coaches that we're interested in that are coaching that weekend & aren't interested in leaving until after that weekend or possibly until after a bowl depending on the candidate. I'm sure agents are talking so no need to move prematurely.

We may not even know whether the season is over or not until the WVU -K-State game the following week.

Disagree, if you are going to make a move, you make it right after the regular season is over.

RU should conduct a national search. Not doing so last time is one reason we're in this mess

I'm sure there have been backdoor talks with agents of the HC candidates RU will be targeting if they get rid of Flood.
The question is: will RU offer what is needed in order to bring in a quality HC or look for a on the cheap replacement.
If on the cheap, probably little difference and keeping Flood or hiring on the cheap is a gamble Rutgers can ill afford. Think even Hermann knows it's better to wait a year while trying to raise
enough money to hire a quality candidate
If willing to do what it takes to get a good candidate this year, Flood needs to go.

I don't think RU is willing to spend at this time and Hermann will look for a way to get the funds to replace Flood with someone considered a quality candidate after next season.

Disagree, if you are going to make a move, you make it right after the regular season is over.
Disagree. We can't make a move until we lock up our candidate & if our candidate is coaching 12/4 or 12/5, then we have to wait until after 12/5 when the regular season ends for everyone (except Army & Navy). There's absolutely no benefit for us to have a long vacancy & exacerbate our problems. We need a quick transition. Had we done what you said in 2013, then we would've had to ask Flood back as we never have a blank check or blanket authorization to just make a change. Instead, we have a specific budget & list of candidates that we have to follow or stand pat if we don't get them. Hopefully, this year we come up with the $ if we're serious.

Flood is likely coming back win or lose on Saturday... as someone else mentioned there would be some staff changes for 2016 ...looks like a lot of ex fans next year...

I can't see that happening with the rumored report & the potential huge loss of $ in ticket, parking, concessions & donations, unless we strike out with our short list or refuse to pay, but it's Rutgers, so anything is possible.

Aha!

"Flood did not ask the professor to change the player's grade, a source told ESPN's Joe Schad, but addressed what the player could do to improve his grade."

Rutgers' Leonte Carroo, who was second in the Big Ten with 1,068 receiving yards last season, will miss the first half of the opener against Norfolk State for violating curfew, a source told ESPN.

FIUs Mario Cristobal and Temple's Steve Addazio are among the coaches that Rutgers will consider to replace Greg Schiano, a source told ESPN's Joe Schad.

No one with a pulse is coming here to work underneath this guy, and when his top recruits all leave in the next 2 weeks you'll understand why he should have been fired 2 months ago.

IMO if it happens it will happen by Monday at the latest. I'd also expect an announcement of support if it doesn't happen.

As far as replacement, I'm sure there will have been back channel communication as to interest. Candidates who we're interested in will likely have been contacted already and I don't think championship weekend will have any bearing. I'd expect a replacement within 2-3 weeks.

VT is the only one I've read who will be quick in naming a coach. Fedora's name has been thrown out and Mullen more recently. Coaches usually are changing spots during or before bowl season so I'd expect a lot the changes to have taken place by mid December with possibly a few left into late December.
