When will we know if Stans has the team headed in right direction?

Big difference in saying shoot 35% and still win versus play like crap and still win. See I knew you were still slightly level headed!

If we'd shot our 35% average on 3-point shots last night, we'd have still won the game by 10 points, which would still have been a solid performance at home against a top-50 RPI team that played in the Sweet 16 last year and will probably be in the NCAA tournament this year.

We did not have to rely on the three pointer to win those two games. It is not like we barely got past them and jacked 40 threes. We beat the hell out of both teams and we shot about the same number of threes as we always do. We just hit a few more of them. We could have shot worse and still won. Our good shooting overshadowed our defense.

stats can only back up your point so much. The game plays entirely different if we shoot our 35% average last night.

that we beat them in a lot more ways than just shooting the ball well. The fact that you and others are bitching about a 28 point win against a quality team is a lot more ridiculous than me saying we would have still won the game on average shooting.

If we shoot our usual 35% from three then we only hit about 8 of 22 instead of 14 of 22. That would mean we still won by 10.

we just aren't convinced things are turned around 6 days removed from an abysmal performance against San Diego.

Western KY will be hard pressed to finish in the top 75 RPI.

what I am saying. You know when they cut it to 15 in the 2nd half, if we aren't as hot from 3 as we were, the game is about a 7 point game. Possessions mean a lot more and the game plays differently.

We would not have been up by 22 at half either, so you are correct DS, we can't keep shooting like that.

Slaughter is a player for WKU and how about the Mendez guy...

I agree that this team needs to avoid poor shooting nights to win but they also don't have to shoot like they did last night in order to stay in games. You won't find many teams that can shoot 35% and win games. I guess I don't understand this argument. This is a flawed team no doubt but good shooting can cover alot of deficiencies.</p>

but we're not as bad as we looked against San Diego either. Looking at this team, I think that our young players (Bost, Osby and Johnson) are going to turn out to be pretty good players for us. It's not an NCAA team this year by any stretch of the imagination, but I don't see any reason it can't be next year.

What "if" Varnado was healthy? What "if" Brian Johnson and Elgin Bailey were healthy? What "if" Varndao was not in foul trouble? "If" Western Kentucky shot like we did in the first half then most on here would be praising them and saying what great shooters they are and how much our defense sucked. Instead we have people acting like it was a bad thing us to shoot well and pretending that our defense had nothing to do with their poor shooting.

to turn this discussion into three pages now. We shot well, we won big, let's see what happens Saturday. Time to do some work, unless you are independently wealthy. If that's the case, then by all means let's keep this one going.

...when WKU was shooting free throws and missed and got their own rebound. Guess who was on the low block opposite Varnado? That's right, Phil Turner. Ha.
