This is what you will get. It is hard to have a strong roster at all positions. In 2012 we had the best player to play at UK since Issel. Plus Three veteran players. Our best roster lost to Wisconsin because we didnt have our best players on the floor the last 5 min. This is who we are. Until the one and done rule is gone I am not sure we can win another championship. I love Cal and what he has done and wouldn't want any other coach. Even Duke will struggle with this philosophy. The teams that will win will have 2-3 great freshman but 5-7 veteran players. Ok now come after me and prove me wrong.

Vol fan here, 100% respect for your program...listening to gameday kinda surprised me - Cal talking about freshman/youth. Isn't that the model he's pushed? We get so frustrated w/Vol head football coach with excuses like freshman etc. I'd think he'd be the last coach with those gripes.

Ok. 1 other program. Cal has 1 title, 1 runner up, 2 other final fours. We can criticize Cal and the team without acting like we're the 7th seed in the loser's bracket in your local CYO league.

Cal has got to get a better mix of freshmen superstars and strong upperclassmen. You cannot just turn over 80% of the starting roster each year, and win it all. 2012 is looking more like the exception because of Davis.

Fox is fast but in the half court he makes lazy one handed passes and can't shoot. On defense ne couldn't guard his lunch

Other than dunking the ball and occasionally hitting that little baby hook Bam has quite a way to go offensively. He's not close to Cousins, Davis, or KAT inside. Heck, I'm not sure his footwork and post moves are any better than Dakari's. Bam's clearly more athletic, but he is limited offensively inside. Have you ever seen him even do an up and under move inside?

Cal has to swallow his pride at some point and start thinking UK first and convince players like Dakari to stay in school

I love Cal but this hasn't been one of his better seasons coaching. I'm starting to think that Fox, Monk, and Briscoe got off to such great starts this season that Cal may have taken a few shortcuts and skipped over some things that they need now. We all know he didn't have to coach the PG spot very much last year with Ulis. Cal has to get better at making adjustments and quit being so prideful and stubborn.

The constant losing guys like Charles Matthews is why we never have much experience. Dakari is another kid that should have stayed...but under Cal 90% of the time the "guys on the fence" always leave to NBA vs. stick around. Briscoe, Twins, Goodwin, Skal, etc..they all wanted to leave for NBA the minute they got here but their game was never great in college...so it leaves us with this constant "young" stuff. None of those guys are/will be NBA guys but for a quick few years on NBA rosters and done for the most part. Other schools keep kids like this at a way higher rate than UK.

Losing Marcus Lee was simply ridiculous...we should find out and fix what is in our program to cause kids to leave and be allergic to 4 years.
