I don't know what to say. I just took a nap, and woke up and saw that we won.

So, I'll say this- pitching CT Bradford was stupid. BUT great win. Good teams find ways to win and to beat the number one team in the country on the road after being shutout twice says a lot about them and their character. Regardless, this is something that they can and will use to build off of.

Needless to say, this is a game we probably lose last year, I guess. So there's that.

so I don't think that's the surprise.

Until we AT LEAST start playing our best players, the haters will still flourish.....

However, I will withhold final judgment until I see us follow through and continue to do the things, from a decision making standpoint, that brought us back today on a consistent basis.

Is that fair? I think so.

But our freshmen where the heroes today. It will be interesting to see if they get some more action now.

But I am proud of the boys pulling it out today. I have a hard time reconciling wanting the team to do well and wanting O'Connor to come coach here, because he can't be here if the team is doing well and Cohen keeps the gig. Sigh. I guess I will just root for the Maroon.

he may have been the right hire. I am no where near as confident as I once was but I still think he should get another year or two (I know that opinion is not popular here).

I agree that he has done some things that make you scratch your head and I think a lot of those screw ups have been Cohen trying to be too aggressive with the talent he has on the team.

I do think that he has some talented Freshmen and Soph. that should really compete in another year or two. Whether fans have the patients to wait and see if that theory is right, remains to be seen.

I am not sure who you could have brought in here that would have gotten this team that the old man left us to be competitive any faster. I think a lot on here don't realize how bad a situation he inherited, although it has been said 1000 times. He tried to do it faster with the JUCO guys and I think a lot of people really fault him for that mistake. I think it was a decent attempt to inject some talent into a young team, it just didn't work.

in reality even if we do end up having to bring in another coach who in the world knows if O'Connor or any other coach we go after will come. The MSU baseball job is a nice job but its not the plum job it might have been 15 years ago or more the first time Polk stepped down.

Would like to pull that one out. They play Bama a few times so they could have some good wins on their resume by the time we play them. They are currently 11-8 with a sweep this weekend over UT Martinfor those that are interested.</p>

blows my mind is that the people that want to fire him after two recruiting classes are the same that wanted to keep crooms all the way up to the TSUN beatdown of 2008. For the life of me, I cannot figure this out. Maybe ONE of them can explain this thought process?

is at LSU, Brian O'Conner isn't going to go to any SEC school. They are very close, and they don't want to compete against each other. Especially at MSU where they would be in the same division and they would be recruiting some of the same players.

There was a big deal made about it when they had to play each other in the CWS. O'Conner was Manieri's pitching coach at ND.

We could still get a very good baseball coach because of the salary that we would offer along with the conference that we're in, and the fanbase that we have. Plus, we are in a great recruiting area- in between Florida,Louisiana, Texas, and Georgia and we're in a state that produces the most MLB players per capita of any state. We still have a lot of things that most people don't have. Not to mention that they would be taking over a program with two probably going on three top 25 classes in a row.
