Ok, here you go. Under a cloak of anonymity, please indicate which of the following best describes your current feelings on CamGate.<div>
</div><div>This takes Auburn out of the equation. I think we can all agree that at the very least they have an eligibility fight on their hands. With Stricklin officially confirming from the AD's office that we were asked for extra benefits, that is not going to go away - and there is still the crazy about face Cam did after the egg bowl which is really tough to explain away if it is confirmed Cecil had his hand out prior to the egg bowl. Cecil clearly knows he is nailed from the MSU perspective...</div><div>
</div><div>I guess I am just shocked that some people think we are going to get hit with some kind of penalty here....so lets take the pulse of the pack:</div>

I think the time between when Bond notified Byrne and we contacted the SEC was spent making sure our ducks were in a row. If nothing else comes of this and all of it is off of the news tomorrow, I at least have confidence that we are a clean program. Why else would wereport what we did when we didn't have to?

In many ways we have the most negative fanbase in the country. I swear some of our fans are like a dog that's been beat all it life. Just cowering and waiting for the next kick. I guess it's kind of understandable after 20 years of Templeton's "leadership." People need to start to understand that that attitude is GONE from our top leadership and get into group therapy or somthing and learn to get rid of it themselves.

...... issue would be if Bill ever spoke directly with Cecil and a link could be drawn between one of our "boosters" and a prospective recruit and/or a family member.

Even then though, I would think it would be a slap-on-the-wrist secondary violation that was self-reported. However, the poll used the phrase "a little trouble" - I would consider that a little trouble, but nothing more.

if enough people in the media and fans at other schools suggest that we will get in trouble that it must be true.

then why direct Kenny Rogers to John Bond? I know that if I was a cigar boy, and some guy claiming to be an agent or whatever he calls himself called me up out of the blue and wanted me to give him 180K for a football player, and I actually did it- after he proved to me beyond the shadow of a doubt that he was legit, of course, I wouldn't want very many people to know about it, and my first reaction wouldn't be to call my former MSU teammate.

Honestly, if that did happen to me, I think I would do what Bill Bell did, because a phone call like that would freak me out, except I would probably call Greg Byrne or contact him myself and leave John Bond out of it all together.

out with Slive. My gut tells me he was orchestrating this whole mess trying to minimize damage to the conference (and himself)first and then worrying about MSU who was doing the right thing last. The first statement that MSU put out this week sounded like it came right from Slive's desk and was totally designed to protect him and the SEC office. There seems to be a frantic search for a scapegoat and Slive is unwilling to man up and say I lead the conference and I screwed up, shoot at me. No, Mr. Slive is leading from the rear and trying to work his way out of a mess and hang onto his job. If other facts come out that discredit my beliefs I will eat crow but as of right now Cecil Newton Sr. is the villian and Slive is his accomplice, period.

That is why Bill Bell called him. Probably trying to just stay out of it all. Seems perfectly logical to me.

and yesall schoolsdo it, starts with boosters and end with boosters. Coachesrarely, if ever get involved for very good reason and often do not know what has happened. It is very plausible that the Auburn coaches did not know about paying Newton, hard to beleive but true. With that said I am 99% sure Auburn boosters accomodated Cecil and our boosters did not, it really is that simple.

1. Were we required to do something prior to January in reporting possible infraction to SEC?

2. After receiving info back from SEC we sat on it for 4+ months. Excuses are like *** Holes everyone has got one.

3. SEC should of notified Auburn of MSU reporting of possible infraction.

4. Did Auburn AD contact our AD/Interim/ Who ever to discuss situation.

5. If they didn't it is probably because something is going on over in Tiger Country.

6. If they did then maybe some of Auburn Fan info is true.

7. I have found when you are walking around in a pasture you usually get a little crap on your shoe's. I believe that is what is going to happen here. We got a little crap on our shoes. The question is how much.......

How true re LT's "leadership". However, I am to <17>'ngold for group therapy. I just try like hell to be positive (but it is damn hard after all these years).

We didn't do a good job of getting the message out that whatwe reported had nothing to do with any action by Auburn and only whattranspired between MSU, Cecil Newton, and people caliming to be Cam's agent.

Also, I find it hard to believe that no secondary violation occurred during the chinese whisper gamebetween Cecil, John Bond, and our athletic department. Nothing big andmaybe not even something that warrants a slap on the wrist, but it's so easy to inadvertently commit a secondary violation, especially when you're talking about "boosters" thataren't really involved (which is my understanding of what Bell is), so that's why I'd say a little trouble.

.... anything like that happened. All I was saying was that that scenario was the only one in which I could see us getting in any trouble whatsoever.

I think it's reasonable to consider that as an option. I don't know why Rogers would go to Bond. I agree with you that if I were Bell I would have done the same but seeing as how we know very little about Bell's total involvement, I think it is within the realm of reasonable possibility that there could have been contact.

As I said before, I think there is no way we could get any more than a slap on the wrist. Just my thoughts.

I think the public chastisement by Slive in his statement is about all that happens to MSU. MSU was the whisteblower dont see how they get in trouble for reporting violations. The boosters may have a problem.
