Have seen plenty of lists here, but this is the first I've heard of this guy. Interesting pedigree. Am wondering where he fits with some of you fellow 6packers.

great basketball pedigree and the Bears want to throw up every time they hear his name, I think he has potential.

To be honest our top 7-8 guys aren't interested, so I'd be lying if I said he's my #1 guy but I'd take him over anyone else I've heard recently.

...but he'd be an interesting candidate. He did well in his first season at a well-regarded mid-major conference. The only problem I have with him is that he's only had one season there, so he's kind of like Prohm in that regard at the very least. I'd be lying if I said he was my #1 guy but I wouldn't be against him either.

associated with recruiting in this conference. Assume he would be encouraged to keep at least one staffer for some continuity.

I don't know how well regarded Drew is when it comes to Xs and Os. Though since he is a coach's son, one would think he'd know something about it.

I'm a little concerned with the lack of head coaching experience, but I'd be OK with Bryce Drew.

on as an assistant. I kinda like the thought of that because from my limited sources, Cunningham is very involved with Pollard and the recruiting class. But I have nothing but rumor to back any of this up, so i may be wrong.

He has a good pedigree as a player and a coach. He also was a 1st round NBA pick, that wont hurt with recruits and players.
He has been there before. I am sure Scott has a few more options on his radar that are not being leaked to the media.
Pollard is a must sign now with Moultrie gone, lets hope he honors his father's wish to go to MSU...

months ago. I like his pedigree and his age. I think he's gonna be in for a rude awakening though and I don't think he has enough meanness or toughness about him. After watching Stansbury be a ***** for 15 years it'd be nice to have a coach the players are a little scared of.

as told many times:

The Dalai Lama, himself. Twelfth son of the Lama. The flowing robes,
the grace, bald... striking. So, I'm on the first tee with him. I give
him the driver. He hauls off and whacks one - big hitter, the Lama -
long, into a ten-thousand foot crevasse, right at the base of this
glacier. Do you know what the Lama says? Gunga galunga... gunga,
gunga-lagunga. So we finish the eighteenth and he's gonna stiff me. And I
say, "Hey, Lama, hey, how about a little something, you know, for the
effort, you know." And he says, "Oh, uh, there won't be any money, but
when you die, on your deathbed, you will receive total consciousness."
So I got that goin' for me, which is nice.

too much credit is being given just based off who he is related to.

he understands how to handle players to get a lot of work out of them and that he is an X's and O's guy. His pedigree leads me to believe that he should be able to do both but his limited head coaching experience makes me question it.

Overall, I'd rather we were able to bring in a Gregg Marshall but Drew could be a good hire for us.

The real question is do we think that Drew could be an upgrade from Stans.
