I don't get it. He was one of our best players first game and has touched the field maybe 10 total plays in the past 2 games.

but he was on the field last night so unless he gets "injured" this week, he can't medically redshirt.

Edit to say he did not touch the field according to genespage.

When you step on the field your redshirt is burned. Period.
no its not....one example would be that i remember threadgill dropping a kickoff at tulane and he ended up redshirting that year.

FAQ on Redshirts

You should know that NCAA rules indicate that any competition, regardless of time, during a season counts as one of your seasons of competition in that sport. It does not matter how long you were involved in a particular competition (for example, one play in a football game, one point in a volleyball match); you will be charged with one season of competition.

...don't know why Chrome won't convert urls or show the toolbar at the top of the posting box.

However, NCAA rules are quite clear on the use of redshirt status: any participation in any competition counts as a season of eligibility. For example, even a single play in a football game counts as participation, so coaches cannot play redshirt players at the end of a game simply to get them some experience.

It didn't make any sense to leave Delmon on the bench when all we were throwing were short routes and he is our best WR with the ball in his hands. If we are going to throw short routes then throw them to someone who can make a play with the ball. Also he is supposedly great at creating seperation and the rest of our WRs appeared incapable of doing that.

Chrome has problems showing the wysiwyg toolbar which is what you have set for. Read my sticky at the top and you should be able to see a different toolbar once you set it.

..."If a player shows out and does an excellent job, BENCH HIM IMMEDIATELY AND DON'T LET HIM SEE THE FIELD ANYMORE". Apparently, making plays isn't in "the plan".

He was injured most of his career. However, against USM in 1990, he blew up and had nearly 200 yards. I know Fair wasn't crippled, because he played a year or two with the Vikings after that.

I don't know if he ever saw the field again. The others, it just seemed like if someone made a big play, Felker would pull him out and you'd never see him again...then again, maybe him not going for two against Auburn and missing the PAT just game me an irrational dislike for the guy.

was won by Fair's two big runs, but he had less than 100 for the night.

Let go of the AU game. It was a stupid decision, no doubt. (BTW, Who scored the TD that should have tied it? Fair.) It's hard not like Rockey if you ever sit and talk to him.

saw the field more was because of injuries. He never made the Viking team roster but was signed as a free agent. However , without out question, he was the best high school football player that I ever saw.
