Sheraton downtown. A block away from Morton's Steakhouse. Can't stop thinking about that Cajun Ribeye.

The main place I'm hitting up is in my above post, Morton's Steakhouse. The other place I'm going is Prince's Hot Chicken Shack. I'm sure the wife will change one of those to the Spaghetti Factory.

they still have rooms at $99...nice hotel within walking distance of everything...don't have to use a car...
there is a walking bridge to the stadium from riverfront and broadway....
doubletree is a major bargain at this price...they charge $24 for parking...but you don't need a car from the doubletree or most downtown hotels...

Where did you find it for $99? I'm seeing $335, but that is for Dec. 30 & 31. Could be way up for NYE if you only booked for the 30th.

My opinion since you asked, get a room downtown. Walk across the bridge to the stadium, and walk to Broad & 2nd Ave (the local tourist trap with
bars and restaurants.) Big Fun!

As far as eats, you should all try out the local joints, not the chains. Broadway east of Vandy has several cool pubs. Try Puckett's downtown on Church. Germantown Cafe, City House, Sambucca, Whiskey Kitchen--all local places.

They said it was normally $335. Are youusing a corporate rate? Are you sure it is the doubletree downtown?

I can just state that if your group checks in and the bellhops bring in nothing but rolling luggage carts full of booze...you're on a short leash with the front desk right off the bat.

Buddy got us two rooms at the Hampton Inn at I-24 / Hickory Hollow for about $95/night. I have no idea what this area is like.

Someone please tell me this is not in the ghetto.

Is noone staying at the Ramada across the street from the stadium? Should I be worried? I'm scared I should find another hotel and cancel this one...

At the Holiday Inn in Vandy. Hope to see a lot of bulldog fans here! They are running out of rooms fast.

But I hear they have great Mexican food in abundance and low Health Dept scores...
FYI: the old Hickory Hollow mall is closed and served as the homeless folks' "tent city" since their "tent city" was flooded during the Great 500 Year Flood last year. These facts may alone tell you something.
