Where is everybody staying in Nashville since its looking like there for sure?

downtown but not counting on it. Still a good many rooms as of last nt all around the airport for $120 or less and its only ~7 miles from downtown.
I got $279 a night for two nights. The bill doesn't explain charges and
with around $40 given for taxes and fees it ended up at $650 somehow.
That's a little steep. Wish I had found the $99 Doubletree when it was
available. Looks like there are few options for nice hotels at this
point though so may be stuck.

even though i heard it's not the best parea, but their a bunch a bigger chain hotels right there together so i figured it couldn't be too bad. I'm in the courtyard marriott. i'm a marriot guy and haven't stayed in a bad courtyard yet. i didn't feel like spending the big bucks this year either.
Green Hills is SE of Downtown. Older neighborhood. You should drive thru. Reminds me of the area around Millsaps and Belhaven (whatever that area is called).
My girlfriend lived in Green Hills for 5 years and just moved out two months ago. So instead of staying for free in a much nicer place I get to drop major bones to stay downtown. Just doing my part to help the economy I guess.
Been to City House a couple times and it is probably my favorite place in Nashville. A hole in the wall Italian place called Mama Mia's is also great. Probably not too convenient to folks staying downtown though. The atmosphere at Whiskey Kitchen is a little to hipster-ish for me but the food is good. I would add Burger Up to the list as well. Cool place with great drinks/beers and unique gourmet burgers. I'm looking as forward to eating in Nashville as about as much as anything else. Great restaurants.

Heck, if one is going to drive down 12South, then don't forget Mafioso's! I love that place. GREAT pizza.
and you want to try something different than Morton's or Ruth's Chris, there's The Palm that's downtown or, my favorite, Fleming's, that's on West End north side of Vandy's stadium.<div>Other LOCAL landmark places would be Hog Heaven that's right across from there next to Centennial Park (if you have a family, you should visit the park).</div><div>Pancake Pantry, but get there early. It's worth the wait. Despite the long line, the wait is usually not too long.</div><div>Loveless Cafe is another good historic place to visit. It's a haul out there to the end of the Natchez Trace, but it's a landmark so you should do it.</div><div>And don't forget the Donut Den in Green Hills on Hilsboro Rd. You do like donuts, don't ya?</div><div>These are all tourist traps, but that's what makes them fun.</div><div>If anyone wants suggestions for Brentwood or Cool Springs, let me know.</div>
