One suggestion. I am very mildly pre-diabetic. 5.8 or 5.9 sometimes. (Recently got it down to 5.3) I would consider getting a continuous glucose monitor. I have used the Stelo monitor and it is amazing. You don't even feel it (even when I work out) and you see your glucose reading every 5 minutes. Makes it easier not to eat carbs or sugar. One sub I ate and one Chinese dish really spiked me that I wasn't aware of. Of all things, hot dogs don't spike me at all. Also, I have an exercise bike and if I eat some carbs or sugar I like, I can get on the bike and moderate or get rid of the spike. Good luck.
