Mine was Toniu Fonoti, The Guy was an absolute beast in college. I think he was a second round pick by the Chargers. Bounced around for a few yrs.

Fonoti sabotaged himself in the NFL with his eating habits. Its hard to stay dominant when you are way to fat to get out of your stance. That dude was an absolute beast in Lincoln. I remember a game against K-State where he shot out of his stance and just flattened the d-tackle in front of him, and then took off into the second level to lead block for the running back. He absolutely enveloped some poor linebacker and just steamrolled him. After the play was over, he walked over and yanked the LB up and smacked him across the head and said something that I am guessing was something like "way to take a hit".
I always thought that Jamel Williams would succeed more than he did. He played as an undersized linebacker for us, but I thought he would work well as a real physical safety in the NFL. Dude had a great nose for the ball and tackled great. He never really did much in the NFL.

Wistrom had a very good pro career. I did expect more out of Alberts though

I'd agree with Rimington He was one of the most decorated linemen in College football history at the time.
I would have thought of Johnny Rodgers long before Eric Crouch may depend on our own age on this one
Alberts was screwed because he was a tweener. Just wasn't quite big enough for DE, and wasn't quite althletic enough for OLB in the 4-3 schemes most teams were playing at the time. He in not so many words said this on ESPN once when he was employed by them.
I think he'd have a much better chance today with more teams running a 3-4 scheme. Still, it doesn't take away how great of a college player he was. His play in the 94 OB with one good arm was legendary.
IIRC he played his entire career with a torn ACL as the technology wasn't there in the early 80s to repair them like today.

Looking back at Rozier you have to ask was he as great as we think he was, or was that OL just incredible? I always remember that he had 147 against Miami, and when Jeff Smith came in he had 99.
Not one ACL. BOTH ACLs were gone for Rimmington. The dude was a warrior and even with both ACLs gone was maybe the quickest offensive lineman to ever play at NU. He was some kind of nasty. One of his favorite moves was a leg whip. Can you imagine trying to leg whip somebody without an ACL? Ouch.
Rozier was really really good but sustained some ankle injuries that affected him for years. He beat out Roger Craig at I-back. Think about that one for a minute.

Rozier also decided to go too the WFL were the league offered him more money to play than the NFL.
I thought you played for the Pittsburgh maulers… But I don't remember.

We are all correct. Rozier played first for the Maulers in 1984. When that team folded Mike played in Jacksonville in 1985 in the USFL's final season.
Anyone know how the guy is doing? IIRC wasn't there a story that his Super Bowl ring ended up in a pawn shop? Sad story if true.

I honestly don't remember him being that good. Pretty good film for an IB I thought was just ok.
