Is Wilson the #1 consultant for Spagnoulo?

Not getting pressure, not shedding blocks, over pursuing on run plays, nobody on backside contain for cutbacks, RB's not receiving initial contact until 5+ yards downfield, etc.........

Carbon copy defense.

Of the five phases the Saints: suck running the ball; suck against the run; suck against the pass; special teams average. Only one phase has been outstanding: they can throw it and catch it...they put all their marbles on an undersized QB who is now aging and will be laughing all the way to the bank...they deserve it. If Payton is smart, he will bolt to Dallas although he probably caused the cf.

Bolt to Dallas, with Romo? He has a better chance in New Orleans with Brees.

Not to take any credit away from Brees, but Brees was slightly better than average before he met up with Payton. Payton built our roster from top to bottom on offense because him and Loomis have that kind of relationship. Not a chance in a million years that happens with Jerry.

New Orleans is prepared to make him the highest paid coach in the NFL already. No need for the Cowboys franchise. Brees is getting old? He's still got several years left, and when he retires you have one of the best and smartest offensive minds in the sport who wants to live out his life in NOLA that would coach with you. At that point Payon can mold another Brees (I realize that sounds ridiculous, no one will ever have his numbers but in that system a lot of QBs would thrive).

The defense is terrible, and in large part it's kind of Payton's fault. A lot of it has to do with bust picks, but we only draft offense players and when we do draft a guy we take a gamble on a guy like Robinson who has upside but could possibly be awful. He's awful. I'm hardly complaining because those 6th and 7th round type picks we've used on the likes of Colston that other coaches use for LBs and safeties have worked really well for us. But my point in all of this is Spags was handed a defense that was determined to finish 32nd this year regardless. Spags' defense requires certain players and that will be addressed. The reason his defenses in NY and StL were disruptive was because of the DL... The weakest outfit on either side of the ball for the Saints.

I'm disappointed about the season but if anything we saved $7 mil this year, found out our weaknesses, and surely solidified the best draft position we've had since Reggie Bush.
