It seems like some random player on our opponents roster has a career night against us every time we play. I'm predicting DeAundre Cranston or Eniel Polynice goes off tonight.

He sucks too bad. If you're looking for someone that doesn't normally or at least hasn't done it this year and has the potential to be the random guy, it's Trevor Gaskins.

I hate Gaskins, but he's the type that could get a hot hand some random night and get 20 more minutes than normal. Henry, Polynice, White, Warren, or Holloway going for 20 wouldn't be very random, since all of them go off on occasion depending on the match ups.

I guess it could be Graham too. He averages about 9 a game, and but he tends to get lost in the shuffle some, and he could potentially get hot and take over a game. Odds are it'll just be the usual suspects though, and if we don't figure out your 2-3 zone, no one will be the RAT.

Polynice excels at driving to the basket. If we play zone, like we did against them in the 2nd half, Polynice will keep running into Swat in the paint, which is not good for him.

True, if you are in the zone and you force Polynice to have to pass or pull up for mid-range shots, he won't do anything scoring-wise. His effectiveness, more than anything, would be with assists given the match up.

Regardless of zone or man, Polynice will take Ravern repeatedly either off screens or just blowing past him.

Jarvis will then try to block Polynice's shot, quick pass to Cranston or Henry, Kodi standing around scratching his butt....dunk. Repeat.

CoachStans will allow us to getdownby about 6-8 pts maybethe score will be 4-12or so before he calls a frustrated timeout, puts Benock in, pulls Ravernaside with his arm around him explaining how a 6'7" 163 lbguy is supposed to fight through screens? Ravernwill be staring off into thecrowd with a blank look, ala Big Feces, Tang, etc....

Makes me sad to see it over and over. This scenario should be repeated when weplay UGA. #1 for them can't wait to get a taste of Ravern again.

To me, the solution is for Bost and Kodi to simply play better. I thought the answer was to get the ball to Kodi down low and let him go to work, but he has missed so many shots I see that this is not the answer either. Maybe Sindey will be cleared for the game this weekend? We sure could use a spark on offense.
The upside of this is maybe Ravern can hit a few threes because it is a home game and he may be "on". Lets hope this is the case.

When he penetrated and Swat denied the shot, he struggled finding an open man to pass to. Whether no one was cutting to help him or he just threw the ball away, I don't recall. But he was killing us with penetration in the first half, and our zone killed him in the 2nd.

Terrance Henry is a good choice for RAT also.

Easy answer, no one was cutting. When we drove the lane in the second half against the zone, everyone stayed on the perimeter, and your zone wouldn't collapse on only one man. I'm hoping Kennedy and the players have figured out that if someone penetrates the zone they have to either find the open spot on the 3 point line or cut to the bucket. It shouldn't be that hard to break down the zone.

And yes Polynice killed you early in the man because he was able to get by his man, and we were able to keep Varnado at the 3 point line. When someone would come to help, he'd have an easy hand off for a dunk or lay up. We have to do the same against the zone, because we won't see any man tonight unless we start carving up your zone easily.

Henry could be RAT, but he's been a lot less random lately, especially with Buckner out.

and doesn't he only play like 10 minutes per game for Ole Miss? Why would we give him 30?

Because we asked nicely. Just wishful thinking on my part. Gaskins won't be your RAT tonight unfortunately. He'll come in, play about 8 minutes early in the game, and by halftime he'll have turned it over enough or committed enough pointless fouls to ride the pine the rest of the night. He may mix in a 3 for good measure, but that'll be it.

1 of 9 and a total of 3 points. Ouch! Thought Ravern played much, much better tonight. Shot was falling ... 4 of 7 behind the line, he took it to the hoop a couple of times with authority and is defense was good.
