Agreed. There are some better overall players, but LB is a weak spot right now. He would make a huge impact on the defense.

For offense, it would have to be Anthony Davis or Shaun O'Hara.

I'm kind if partial to Brian Leonard to this day I dont think anybody receives the respect that he commanded and brought to the team with just general way in which he carried himself on and the field If we had someone like him on the team these jackasses would have ventured into home invasions

It's obvious you don't know college football from your other posts. But to educate you on Lucas' time here : Lucas was in the middle of a quarterback controversy basically every year he was here because he couldn't lock down the starting job. Lucas/fortay , Lucas/Higgins . The guy was booed mercifully during a second half collapse at home late in his career to Syracuse and a freshman named Donovan mcnabb .

Typical Football fan blame everything on the QB. LOL

Lucas played in the NFL and was good here. Graber was big on the Pro style offense which Ray was not stellar at but just as good as Fortay and I don't really remember Higgins so that was probably a typical RU fan controversy lol. Name a year our fans didn't want the backup and booed our starting QB.

IMO Ray would have been better in the current spread systems but his dream was to play in the NFL and he did it.

Back to the OP, I see all good choices above (and just this one negative post) but if I have to choose just one it is Brian Leonard. Great all around team player who came back for his 5th year and led us to the cusp of a Top 5 finish. Leadership plus a great talent. We need more guys like him. Leadership.

So name another great QB that was far and away better than Lucas.

I liked Ray a lot when he played here. Scott Erney comes to mind as one of the best QB's that we ever had.

Nicky Newark, I wouldn't say Lucas was even the best on his team.
I though Bryan Fortay out played him as a Junior Transfer from
Florida, but Graber seemed to be married. to Ray for some reason.

Anywhom My only choice would be Brian Leonard, who I believed had
a lot about to do with Rutgers new found frame.

Instinctively, I would have said Brian Leonard for everything he did for the program, but the current roster is stacked at tailback.

Have to go with Anthony Davis. The o line really needs a jolt, and it's definitely a concern going forward.

Ramel Meekins was the most disruptive DL we have had in the last 20 years. He made everyone (including Foster) around him better. As a Senior DT in 2006, he had 68 tackles, 13 TFL, 8 sacks and 5 Forced Fumbles (led the country in that last category).

Loved Meekins.. think Hamilton is better.. would love to have seen him out there this year.
