Under Julie and Tim, all big news was released to ESPN first. If they actually manage to keep this under wraps, it will be interesting to see who breaks the story. If it is the SL, we will have truly entered a new era.
I don't think it will be announced for many weeks. Hobbs has a lot of work to do just to learn about daily operations and meeting with various people at the university, I doubt if he is 100% focused on getting a football coach. We have a fall back in Coach Wilson.
? Hobbs is entirely focused on hiring a football coach. That's mission No. 1 and he stated such during his interview at the RAC. Time is a ticking.
Many weeks? Dec. 11-12 is a big recruiting weekend. If there's not someone in place by then, we have a problem.
For recruiting purposes, he needs to act sooner rather than later. First priority is securing existing class and next is convincing local kids that have committed elsewhere. I hope its a coach that would jolt the local recruiting scene - Richt would do that, maybe even GS.
I agree. I think Hobbs is smart enough to try to establish a good relationship with the local press, and leaking them this info first so they break it and get the recognition would be a good move in that regard.
Hard to say - kind of in uncharted territory if RU goes after a medium to big "name" - remember the medium to big "name" coaches have lots of connections on their end & they will be making preliminary "hey, I'm putting a new band together - interested?" type phone calls

I think you are crazy. I expect that he is 100% committed to the football coaching search right now. The department is probably like any large organization - it can run itself for a while without the boss being in on the day to day. I doubt this goes past this time next week, and in fact probably before the weekend.
