Also top shelf for the worst color scheme in the history of organized sports.
Not exactly Mr Blackwell here so I'll pass on the critiquing of the uniforms. The option offenses, with the brown uniforms (JCA & COM too) make it tough to find the ball.

You guys must be of a certain political party -- making up a controversy because you have none that are real.

Dark brown jerseys with bright white trim and numerals are very sharp. They look especially nice on television when trophies are being accepted.

Some years back, we had some gold thrown in, and they looked pretty sad. Not anymore.

They should strip them of a few titles just for those hideous uniforms:eek:.

NNFan - go ahead and strip us of a few titles. We have plenty to spare. Has your team ever won one? I do recall you losing to Marist a few years back in an earlier round-- a school that is a fraction of your size.

It was a joke MC63, unfortunately you have absolutely no sense of humor. Yes, we have a few titles... thanks for asking. Yes, once we lost to Marist in overtime. BTW... love their uniforms! Great school too! Have you ever lost to tiny Glenbard South?

LOL!!!! I do remember the "vast right wing conspiracy" excuse twenty years ago. Bright white? As opposed to dark white?

The black stripe on the gold pants are the boys least favorite. We still have, and wear, them.

We lost to one of the many Glenbards about 15 years ago ... on the road. It was rather one-sided. They scored a touchdown with seconds to go in the game ... the score was about 30 - 0 and their coach decided to go for two points.... even their fans thought it was chicken-bleep. After much booing from his own side of the field, he sent in the kicker.

Re a sense of humor .... you need to work on your sarcasm skills.

Here is what I respect very much about Mt. Carmel and what I take a lot of pride in being an alum and part of the program. I was at MC just at the start of their run in the late 80's, I was there when Lenti won his first State Title. In my 4 years at MC, my class lost 1 game....now I know MC has GREATLY improved their campus and their facilities...they have the best Athletic Center in the State for my money, and the main building is almost unrecognizable...but that wasn't the case when I was there, and well into the late 90's....our weight room was a gutted classroom....we had leaky pipes everywhere...our practice field was painted dirt....our locker room was prehistoric, half the lockers were broke...the main school building was in major need of a face lift...we passed up other schools 5 minutes from our homes to go to 64th and Dante which was a hell of a lot worse them it is now....we practiced at Jackson Park as Fresh and Soph and hoped we didn't get a shard of glass in our arms when we got tackled...hell we didn't even have doors on the shitters...we did all this, is those conditions...and we still dominated....and thats not being cocky or bragging, it's a fact...we did a lot more, with a lot less then most programs in that era.

Did you have better players?

In the 4 years that I was there, to my memory, 5 total players of the hundreds we had went D1...so no...but we had the right players that played into our system.
Better does not equate to D1. Also the things you listed that you didnt have dont equate to the quality of player. Not to take anything away from those accomplishments at all. Part of dominating assumes better players.

ESL conditions were identical. I also feel that those conditions gave players a different edge.

The stories of "want and strife" are terrific. I love seeing kids overcome with little resources.

Don Beebe talks about what little they had in 2004 when he and his brother arrived to coach at Aurora Christian. They did not have a field until 2008. Those four years from 04-07, every game was a road game, playing "home games" on borrowed fields. They did not have a weight room at the school. Just a borrowed piece of farm property with rusty weights in the barn. No heat. No air conditioning.
