White Ice Death has covered Central MS, B'ham, and ATL

Crazy to read that people have been stuck in their vehicles for nearly 20 hours. And kids stuck in schools overnight.

And to think, just a little further NORTH here in the Golden Triangle it's just plain cold as 17. No precipitation.

Two polar vortices in the same winter??

Or maybe we had just one polar votex, and this is simply a Nuclear Winter Cold Front.

Call me when you get two blizzards in a five day stretch

/yes I just one upped a snow story
//fully expect someone in Colorado or Alaska to follow that up with a horrendous story of snow

Ironically up here in the Great White North of Alaska

It's been unusually hot and all of our snow is melting.. Hell it was 48 yesterday.. So why y'all are getting crap it's warm up here. No complaints.
Also driving conditions aren't even relatively comparable from Colorado/Mississippi/Alaska. The relative humidity and dew point in MS make it more likely for all of that wet snow to immediately turn to black ice. I'd rather drive in a Colorado/Alaskan blizzard than 2-6 inches of snow or sleet in Mississippi any day.

There are no great drivers on black ice...only dumb ones.

Don't know how wet the snow was down south yesterday, but the NWS said that the little we had was in the 15-20 inches/inch of water range ... quite dry. It was blowing all over the place. Probably was closer to 10:1 where all the problems were though.

We had no problems at all here, but my son in the Atlanta area had a 10 hour commute home yesterday, including a 1.5 mile walk to his house after he had to leave his car. It's a huge mess over there.
