Gary Nova is the type of competitor you learn to live with. He had several different OC’s. That did not help Gary or Rutgers. All I know is after he left the QB position lacked B1G time. If we had him last season we win probably 6 games.Think about that.
The good Nova was really good (Arkansas, Wash State, and Michigan). The bad Nova was really bad (WVU and Penn State).

I think Dodd was hurt by his lack of stature.
He was not only small and looked small, he also looked like Lindsay Lohan in "Life Size."

It took Gary Nova a long time to blossom. We used to joke that we intercepted a Nova pass while in the concession line and another one while on the way to the bathroom.
It was too bad that Mike McMahon played on a not so great offense. We never saw his potential. As everyone knows he played in the NFL, same with Savage and Lucas.

Dodd and Savage were our best true frosh qbs - ironically (sadly even) back to back. Problem was Dodd's performance never took a jump from that initial level and Savage's performance went down and then obviously he left.

It's a scary thought - combining some of our better defenses and specials with an elite qb. We've never had one. It's what's held us back IMO.

I get Teel being #1, as he was QB during the best era ever for RU 1A football, but I'd have McMahon right after him, as there's no doubt he was the most athletic/gifted QB we've ever had, but was surrounded by a 1AA team that kept him from seeing success at RU. Unfortunately, however, that list isn't particularly impressive, as we've simply never had GREAT QBs, IMO.
