I'll start off by saying that it's reasonably safe to assume Ross will go deep tonight in game 2, but we cannot assume he can throw a CG. With that in mind, I really think there are two real options here:
1. Play conservative... Start lindgren and give yourself the best chance to win the matter at hand. Have holder warming up, too. He can pitch in both games, if need be. Problem is, you really burn the option for Jacob to go extended innings tomorrow.
2. Take a chance and start woody. Again, you can have holder throwing both games tonight... EXCEPT if woody has a bad start. Woody can sit guys on the pine if he has his stuff. If not, it won't take much to let TAMU right back in this. The trade off is you save lindgren for possible deep innings tomorrow and leave woody available to pitch an inning or two, as well.
What do you do here? The object is to win the series and we have the game 2 rotation pretty much set. I think you have to play this safe and play your cards to finish this game off with option 1.
Thoughts? I know you got 'em..
