IF/when Stoops is fired who would you like to be the next hire? Based off of a logical salary and a coach we could logically get.

The top 3 or 4 will move on to another poll later this week.

Scott Satterfield, Neal Brown or Lane Kiffin. All three are young and upcoming coaches.

Lane Kiffin could be a dumpster fire, but it could also be the best hire we've ever made... A lot like this upcoming presidential election.
Les Miles would be an awesome hire, but he hasn't won a championship at LSU since '07 so if he can't do it there.....
To me, the best hire would be Houston's HC if he would leave.

I picked Houston's coach. Best on that list to me but not 100% sure he would leave. Also might be who LSU goes for. I would be happy with most of the coaches on the list.. top 3 to me are...

-Tom Herman
-Jeff Brohm
-Art Briles

All 3 have proven to exceed expectations without amazing recruiting classes.

Hudspeth is a name I've forgotten. He might be the best of the realistic names. Love to get Leach but that ship has sailed.

I'd take Kiffin simply to piss off UT fans and anything that pisses off UT fans is good.

Hudspeth got my vote only because PJ Fleck wasn't an option. I would love Brohm but the though of him ditching us for UofL turns my stomach.

There's zero chance he would leave Kentucky for Louisville. No matter what Louisville is doing this year that would still be a lateral move at best. There is literally no coach that Louisville could get that Kentucky couldn't get just as easily. A head coach at Kentucky isn't going to leave for Louisville, I don't care how deeply him and his family are tied to the school. There would be zero reason for doing so. It's not like Louisville is Alabama or Georgia. There are no advantages in going to that school and there is no way that anyone loves a school so much that they'd up and leave and make a lateral move like that and leave behind what they just built and then have to go and do it all over again at a school that's in basically the same shape. If Brohm was going to leave Kentucky for a school it would be a Florida or Georgia, etc, not Louisville.

Once again it'll be a matter of opportunities lost for UK.

I'll be shocked if Barney would ever land Brohm. My guess is Petrino may very well head to LSU and then Brohm to UL at season end. Jurich will make the transitions appear seamless and UL will continue its success.

In the meantime, we will be giving Stoops another year to do a job we all know he is incapable of doing. Recruiting will take a nose dive, players will transfer, the cupboard will be bare and we will inevitably again be scraping the bottom of the barrel for a coach all the while being lectured by our AD about the patient process of building a program.

Many fans wanted Neal gone and now he should be HC? Some KY Football fans are a strange breed.....
Noone has even voted for him? Where is your proof of this? I would take him over Stoops, yes. I would take my grandmother over Stoops though. Neal has proven more last week than Stoops has over the last 3 seasons..

I like a lot of those names, but most just aren't viable candidates. The most viable are Jeff Brohm, the ULL coach and possibly Neal Brown . I would take Brohm going away.
I would not want Brohm for one reason and one reason only. If he has any success, even the slightest, and the Louisville position came open, he would leave.
Do we really want a coach who sees Kentucky as a stepping stone to the Louisville job.

Has nothing to do with your poll. I have read and heard fans mention him because of one game against a Clemson team that is struggling on offense right now. He may be the next coming of Urban Meyer but think some folks need to pump the brakes. He went from a guy who drove people crazy with calls he made at UK, being glad he left, and now some want him back.

When your the Co-Pilot you sometimes fly like you think the Captain wants you to, but when your Captain, you make the decisions. That may have been the case with Neal, and we know it was not the case with Dawson, that's why he's gone.

I wouldn't beg for that hire, but it cannot at all be any worse than what we have. It would not be my first choice, or top 10 at that.

Huge, huge misconception and completely untrue. Not sure where this notion started getting legs but it couldn't be more untrue. That would be like if Neal Brown became the head coach at Louisville and he left after three years to become the head coach at UK because he's "a UK guy". Just wouldn't happen. He's a UK guy through and through, but guys don't leave and make lateral moves like that just because it's "their school". These guys are looking at coaching decisions that are going to get them to the next level, they're not over there thinking about their favorite school like a fan does, they're looking at dollar signs and climbing the coaching ladder.

If Neal Brown were going to leave Louisville or Jeff Brohm were going to leave Kentucky it would be to go to a school like Georgia or Auburn. Not a school that offers no significant advantages over the other besides being "their school". That's not how big time coaching decisions work. That's how the mind of a fan works. You don't leave WKU to go coach at Southern Miss just because it's your favorite team and you don't leave UK to go coach UofL. I don't care if he sleeps with a Louisville pillow under his head every night it's still a lateral move. You have to take your fan hat off for a second and look at this stuff through the eyes of a big time football coach.

Brohm would be an awesome hire, and you wouldn't have to worry about UL unless they offered some kind of unrejectable amount. But UK should be able to offer up any amount UL is able to.

While this is true based strictly on money, the chance to coach at his dream job (alma mater, UL fan) would more than make up for the difference money wise

To honest I had no idea who PJ Fleck was before today. But the more I read about him and how he was able to turn Western Michigan completely around in such a short time makes me love the idea of him as our coach.

Here's the categories and who I would pick:

P5 coordinator - Lincoln Riley
NFL Assistant - Josh McDaniel
"Group of 5" Head Coach: Scott Satterfield
Retired P5 Coach: Tressell
Fired P5 Coach: Art Briles ONLY after a lot of due diligence or Summerlin if he is fired

Brohm or Hudspeth are worthy mentions, and I would throw Lovie Smith's name in the hat as well - he's a superbowl head coach and a former UK assistant. I worry that Brohm would bolt for UofL as soon as Petrino gets a better deal. Brown is just too young for the job. People hanging their hat on the Clemson game are not looking at the big picture Clemson was in a typical let down situation in game two just like Georgia who nearly lost to an average FCS team. Herman is a pipe dream. The Cougs will be in the B12 this time next year and might win it.

Who gives a rat's ***? If he moves this program forward, we have benefited. We're freaking Quasimodo and trying to be picky about who we ask to the ball...

Brown is too young/inexperienced, but you would take Riley or Satterfield... Okay....

I figured I would get called out on that but in 30 seconds? that must be a Liar record :) You're right Brown is actually older than I thought I checked his age and he's 36 I was thinking more like 29 or so, he just seems young for some reason. Put him in there along with Satterfield who is 46. But I prefer the style of play Satterfield coaches.

I would personally take Brown over Riley (as HC). I'm surprised Satterfield is 46 - thought he was younger. But as I have reiterated, Stoops isn't going anywhere, at least not until the 2017 season has played out...

I voted for Houston's coach but no way in hell he would leave if this dumpster fire. Give me Lane. How fun would it be beating Tennessee and with him.

Les Miles has to change up his offense but how does he not get any more votes, I mean he has won a national championship which I don't think any of those coaches have even come close to. His record according to wikipedia is 113 -33 in the SEC LOL UK football fans are silly.
