My wife knows so much about football, but she's a Rebel...and we're giving each other the stink eye. Who can relate? It sorta sours the moment.

I've got a Rebel wife but she's being good about it all right now. She just likes them for their school colors!

Me, sort of. My girlfriend, and remember I'm an

Old fat dog, is a double graduate from Ole Miss and loves them more than a squirrel loves nuts. And I'm crazy about her. This year has us both confused. Should we act like we are happy for the other's success or should we be honest? Damn. I love Ole Miss losing but I love her more.

My wife's a bulldog from Oxford. All her people are OM fanatics. And we go there every other year for thanksgiving. This is one of those years, should be fun.

Swandawg69 is a USM grad, but took 12 hours of Grad classes at om one summer. 22 years of Dawg-sized lovin' has turned her into Bulldog fan.

Wife is a rebel. Brother in law is a flaming rebel. Mother in law is a rebel. Father in law could care less. We get along well.

My wife is a Rebel as well...

So are the in-laws. But luckily they get 4 Ole Miss season tickets so I wil be able to see the Egg Bowl in person. Gonna be tough not sitting in the State section this year.

My wife is a Bammer. I really don't have much to say to her about football. It's a weird feeling to me that we are the better team. She has been a pretty good sport to me for the last few years so I am not rubbing it in too much. I get a jab in here and there, though because I feel like this might be my last chance to do so.

I went to State, she did her undergrad at USM and doctorate at UMC...and couldn't care less about either. She may be a bigger State fan than me. No issues here.

Yep. She gets pretty riled up about football too.

We watch the Egg Bowl separately.

Right here.

I'm the bread winner, don't keep her from the thicket. She just knows she'll be making that trip without me. And she's the only one of her family that went to umiss. All the other in laws went to State. So she's got to go along to get along or get left at home.

I have the Bulldog wife. Tensions have run high before. We've both left each other at different Egg Bowls. She left me with no ride home in 2008, so I returned the favor in 2009.

We talked about it this weekend. There's no point in being upset at being number 2 in the country. That's who the Egg Bowl loser may be. After all the years of fighting over scraps, we're just going to enjoy being on top for once. We felt like there was no since in giving each other the stink-eye or getting good and pissed off at each other if the other one does something big because there's no sense in not enjoying a historic season for our own team because the other one did better.

No one is immune from letting their emotions get the better of them, but there's a lot more to life than football, guys.

Married an Alabama girl. She couldn't care less about sports except for the occasional big Alabama game. She usually pulls for MSU (mostly out of pity for me most years). On the other hand, her whole Crimson Tide family have heckled me for years. I'm hoping for sweet redemption in a few more weeks.

Me. My Rebel wife enjoys football as much as I enjoy my Bulldogs. But since we both relegate football to its proper station in life, we enjoy our rivalry and have never had a cross word about it.

My two kids are split, too, though, which sucks. I'm working pretty hard on the Rebel kid though. The right amount of swag may sway her.

Me too. Mine grew up a state fan, her whole family is state, but she went to om. And she used to live in the red stick, so her second team is LSU. But we handle it well. Season tickets to state, but she has not been to an egg bowl game in starkville.

I am married to a Rebel that has a son that graduated from tsun. Me and my son both MSU graduates.
We get along fine but on Egg Bowl day we just do not speak about the game win or lose. After the game is over we are one happy family again. We have been doing this for 26 years succesfully.

Married a JP, country club, Junior League, Tri Delta Rebel from Jackson. She cheers louder than any state fan in the stands. I can't get my cowbell back from her. The brain washing took about 7 years. She hates the rebels and thinks they're cheaters. You guys just need to train your wives better.

This is me as well. Except that wife's family are all blithering idiots when it comes to football. They don't even know when they win or lose, they just dress in houndstooth and say Roll Tide. So they don't really bother me that much, no real smack going on. A few of them are Auburn fans and they are the real pricks.

I let two of her Aunt's slide since they actually graduated from Alabama. The other family members usually aren't too terrible either, I just loath Alabama for all their other stupid fans. The one's who have always....ALWAYS been "die-hards" but have never been to a game, no ties to the state or university, and were nowhere to be seen during the Shula years.

Married into a Rebel family. But they, treat me well, very little smack.

Over the years, I haven't gloated during the good times, so the smack, ribbing, backhanded compliments, etc. have basically disappeared over the years.

Married to a Rebel for 20 yrs & all in law men are Rebels. All my people are Dawgs. Both sides get along very well but the Rebel men do their drop their head when I ask "why do all Rebel girls have to go to State to find a real man, are that not any coming out of Oxford?" Cuts em deep. Anyway, 20 years & never been to a an Egg Bowl together. Just figure no one wins--even if your team wins you cant really enjoy it & talk smack, otherwise, plan to sleep on the couch. Love the Dawgs but love my wife & marriage more....

My rebel wife and I don't watch egg bowl in same room. Most of time I go to deer camp and watch it.

This year I can't even talk about Dawgs without her trying to one up me and eventually getting upset. Yet she reads me articles about UM almost nightly. Typical OM hipacrit, but love is a funny thing.

Funnel all your hate into Auburn. That's what I did. Works well.
