Any other team that loses to a team ranked ~15 spots behind them is going to fall farther than 3 spots.

You really are upset about that after what happened last year?

Of course they are getting preferential treatment. MSU is better than a good many of those Top 25 teams, yet we fall out of the rankings. Oh well, it is what it is. That treatment got Alabama a title last year.

Not me. I think they're right where they should be. And I know 3 teams that are glad they probably won't have to play them for a national title.

Where they 'should' be doesn't really matter.....

Typically you should fall more than that when getting beat by the #15 team. I think they should have fell at least under Georgia and probably under Ohio State in the AP Poll.

None of it is fair. 'Best' is relative. MSU is better than some Top 25 teams, but in our current system, better records get you ranked. Until more cross pollination is done with our OOC schedules, this will continue to be the case. MSU's schedule is easy by the pundits' measure, but it had us ranked #11 at one point. That's just the system will all abide by. Did anyone really think Louisville was a Top Ten team? Of course not, but plummeting in the polls is the price you pay when you lose, just as being ranked is the award when you win.

Who would you put Bama behind? Everyone else behind them has lost a game and none of the 1-loss teams behind them has a quality win like LSU. A&M was a hell of a lot better than #15 just like MSU was nowhere near as good as #11 and Louisville at #9 was a complete joke. MSU and Louisville fell far when they lost because everyone knew they were overrated. Bama didn't fall far becaus everyone knows they weren't.
