I know this has been discussed more times then we want to and the consensus is we all expected it... but still reading this tweet makes me worried:

Jones and amile - seniors

Tatum
Giles
Allen
Kennard
Bolden
Jeter- transfers

8 guys gone is unfortunately what I see with 3 coming in (Trent jr, O'Connell, Wendell)... leaves 5 open spots.... I hope we get Duval but I'm not getting hopes up until it happens..

Hopefully there are some good grad transfers that are going to be available...

I don't know what we do...we need Duval some kinda bad....Bamba isn't coming here most likely...

This is the peril of running OAD...I don't like it and would rather go back the likes of Nolan, Schyer and Singler...

Time to build a "Team" again...this OAD besides one year in 2015 has not been successful....

I hope I am wrong in my predictions.., I hope I can come back here in 2-3 months and say damn I was way off let's do this thing! But reading Adam's tweet... it really gets you thinking and exodus to me is at least losing 5 players at bare minimum

That's the other true point.... is anyone really accurate? I only follow tweets from TDD... No one knows what young guys think... but just hearing chatter from people around here that are usually in the know... it doesn't sound optimistic. Plus it's hard to turn down the big $$$ and the allure of the NBA when it calls.

Best thing to do.. sit back and just let it play out (easier said then done). I've learned in my years the more you obsess on something in life the more you drive yourself nuts...

Tdd seems to be more interested in rumors more than fact from what I have seen In The past. Or at least have misused "insider" info by speculating. They could be right but Also how would we all define mass exodus. Technically losing the seniors and Tatum is a mass exodus.

If we bring back Giles/Bolden & even just 1 of Kennard/Allen - Top 10 team

I agree with this. We might wanna keep an eye on Javin too. Keep in mind , this ain't like the old days. Getting highly-ranked kids to come in and "wait their turn" ain't the easy sell it used to be...unless your Roy and in which case they'll stay all 4 years. Anyway , gonna be a mass exodus. We should go ahead and get ready for it.

I don't think there's any way Javin isn't back next season. Everything about him seems like he loves the program. After we won the acc tourney, he posted a picture with the trophy with the caption "the first of many" so it seems like he's planning on being here for awhile thankfully!

Is that an Anti-Duke account? Comparing 2016 [ACC Title] to 2012 seasons?

I have a hard time seeing a 2nd Round lose team releasing 5 players to the NBA! Kennard and his black eye are going to the NBA?

Hey Carolina hasn't gone the one and done route. Every once in a while you get a kid that is good enough to go. K was jealous of Calipari and all the OAD talent he was bringing in and he started playing that card.

Jealous of Calapari? You have jokes. K has always recruited the best players and that has never changed, things are just different now with the NBA rules and such and unfortunately it's taken away from the college game to an extent.
FWIW I think Tatum, Giles, Allen, & Kennard are all likely gone.

Exodus means:
1.Amile Jefferson
2.Matt Jones
3. Jayson Tatum
4. Chase Jeter

4 for sure.

1. Luke Kennard
2. Grayson Allen
3. Harry Giles
4. Marques Bolden

4 on the fence. Possible of 8 people leaving, I believe the bottom 4 ultimately come back.

Starting 5 next year:

PG- Duval
SG- Kennard
SG/SF- Grayson
PF-Giles
C-Bolden

Bench- Frank, Trent, Javin, Carter, Vrank.

We will be completely fine.

According to the moderators, Tatum, Giles and Kennard are gone and possibly Grayson. They have info that I don't so I'm inclined to believe them. My opinion is Bolden won't be coming back and I'm not sure about Frank. Reload and hope none of bench guys transfer and work hard on their game over summer

100% Gone:
Tatum, Giles

95% Gone:
Allen, Kennard

75% Gone:
Jeter (Transfer), Bolden (Pro)

Luke's stock is at it's highest right now. He's gone. I would be SHOCKED if Grayson came back. Especially since he will have graduated early.

Now for Bolden... And don't kill me for saying this, but... Am I the only one that really doesn't care if he comes back or not? He showed little to no effort when playing and often looked like he didn't even want to be here. I'm of the mindset, if you don't want to be a part of Duke, then don't let the door hit you on the way out. If he comes back with the same attitude towards playing time, I'm afraid it will negatively affect next year's team. And yes, I know he will be a good basketball player at some point.

Not sure if anyone remembers, but after Nova beat us in 2009, Duke was in a similar situation. Duke lost Elliot Williams, Henderson, Czyz, McClure, and Paulus. Granted, the current team will lose more in quality, and probably more in quantity as well, but it was still a big hit to take at the time.

Recruiting was in far worse shape at the time. Duke lost out on John Wall. There were no instant impact freshman coming in. Andre Dawkins even showed up a year early.

The world seemed mighty dark for Duke basketball at that time. A year later, Duke wins their 4th national championship with a alarmingly unathletic team.

I went with Jayson, Harry, and Grayson.

Luke comes back and is a National POY candidate, Frank comes back and takes his game to another level. Marques comes back and is a double-double machine.
I want to believe this but the pragmatic side of me says Luke is gone.

Draftexpress.com has Frank Jackson in next year's draft @ #20. Impressive. He will absolutely climb higher throughout the season. Looks like we will only have him for one more year. Dang.

Well OK then, the cupboard is looking pretty dry if you folks are correct. Anyone think that the cap increase in the NBA is having an effect? Has the Duke brand gotten too good at getting guys in the pros? What we need is for a guy to reveal that he regrets leaving early. Maybe that would help temper the draft lust. I hate this roster instability. Sure I expect 2-3 guys to bolt every year, but this is getting out of hand.

Any of those guys should probably go pro if they have a shot at round 1 because there's a chance they may not get that again - if that's what they want. However, Kennard is going to struggle to make it in the NBA imo - and the SC game is telling about the kind of physicality he's up against.

As far as being on the court, I don't think Chase will add much if he stayed.

Bolden is an interesting case - there seems to be so little known about his attitude toward the program. I'd be surprised if someone drafted him in round 1. But, stranger things have happened. I thought he'd be transferring. He may not want to be here with Duke getting a top rated C/PF next year.

There's just no way I see a top 10 recruit (#1 at his position) staying in college for TWO more years and transferring. He either stays and toughens up or goes to the combine and tries to win some scouts over and jumps to NBA or D League. I just don't see any chance that he commits himself to two more years of college when it was obvious he wasn't happy with playing time.

Tatum, Giles, Luke and Grayson I'll say are gone.
Bolden pro or returns, he isn't transferring any where.
Jeter, transfers or comes back next year and realizes he's got a spot on the floor.
Javin and White, imo I don't see leaving Duke white is on the best shape next season to start at SF.
If Allen and Luke return along with Jackson and Trent coming in along with O'Connell I don't see Duval picking Duke. That's to many guards and Luke or Allen aren't coming back to come off the bench and I don't think Trent picked Duke to ride the pine and after the season Jackson had do you really see him only playing limited minutes next season?

I've generally been wrong when it came to players that I thought would come back the following season. The only time that I can remember being right was when I said I thought that Grayson would come back this season and in this poll I voted that I think Harry and Jayson will be the only players that we lose because I just think that Grayson and Luke will come back because I think they'll both want another run at a championship because there was an article where Grayson said that was why he came back this year and I think Luke might feel the same way. I also think Marques will also be back because I don't think he came in as ready as most people thought he would be anc I'm not sure that he's ready for the NBA yet either. I also don't think Chase will leave/transfer because the reason that he didn't get much playing time this season was mainly due to the fact that he was injured a lot this season. As far as Frank, I could possibly see him leaving after next season IF he has a really good season next year because he showed this season that he's a very talented player but I don't think he's quite ready for the NBA yet.

His handles need work, but then he's a top 6-7 guard.

Your lack of recruiting has not caught up with you yet because you have five McDonald's players who have stuck around for three plus years. You lose at least three of them this year.Lets see how well you do with your three star recruits and then see if you feel the same way

Exactly. Only 4 players out of the last 2 Top 15 high school recruiting classes are still in school. Roy has THREE of 'em. So , yeah. Fan-wise , it's been great for unx. Heck , they could even be formidable next season too. Jackson and Berry are only juniors and you can bet yer azz if Roy doesn't load up on this next class , both will return. In this day and age of so-called "blue blood schools" loading up on OAD's , Roy's in a 1965 time warp. Top players commit and stay multiple years. THAT is hurting his recruiting as much , if not more , than the scandal. Of course , this is all moot if he signs a few of the blue-chippers who have been avoiding 'im the last few seasons. The point is this...his program should be , at best , akin to Sylvia Hatchell's. Hers was devastated by scandal-related issues and she's rebuilding. Due to the millions spent by unx to kick the can down the road with regards to their dealings with the NCAA & his top guys staying multiple years , Roy has been able to tread water quite comfortably. Disgusting.

Frank is a solid combo guard but he's not a point guard and he's not a substitute for the point. He's a combo/shooting guard. He can sub for point but if he's the guard for point next year Duke will still need another. Frank is more of a driver/slasher/scorer. I don't think he'll be a distributor.
