Me...

All week long, I had no illusion we would win this Nebraska game.

Felt the same way throughout this game until we cut it to 21-14.
Then I got a little sucked in and allowed myself to think we COULD ACTUALLY win this game!

Then the stupid defensive holding play nixed the 3rd down stop, and I knew we were screwed.

The fake FG was another dagger, and totally unnecessary.

I knew we were cooked, and I could go back to hoping the final result would do nothing to give people pause that Flood should be fired.

I ain't even mad. Just numb.
As said in other threads, apathy has set in, and that is so dangerous and sad for the future of our program.

I (kind of) wanted us to win the game, but if we were going to lose, I didn't want it to be close. Worst case scenario would have been false hope for the future when it is obvious this regime is not going to get it done.
I don't really feel bad about wanting the outcome to be a no doubter.

I assume most on the board feel the same, but just asking.

Me. I expected it. I was kinda surprised how bad Nebraska was though. Expected them to score more than they did.

Never expected it to go any other way with Flood "masterminding" the game plan. -Was a bit surprised, though, at how much Nebraska tried to help us out with the INT's.

I thought we would be "fired" up with our bowl hopes on the line and win a close one at home. But as soon as the score went 7-0 so quickly, I knew we were done. For some reason I felt this year that if we didn't score first we won't win or come from behind to win (Indiana was an abberration).

Its hard to keep putting emotional energy into Rutgers Football. I have learned, I don't know how I have done it, but I just don't get upset anymore. Probably started after the PSU game, knew then it was not going to be a great season.

Me ..... I moved to CA earlier this year (kept my 5 season tickets). Kid had a soccer game that started at same time so I DVR'd. Got home, watched the 1st quarter, pressed stop, deleted the rest then looked up the score. I was actually surprised it was not worse.

Was originally planning on keeping all 5 tickets even with move. I will now probably drop to two and give them to friends to keep my PP account open/current for 1 more year then reevaluate.

Not surprised at all, thought it would be less competitive. Nebraska is not very good at all. We are terrible, however

What RU fan would wish we would lose, but I have to say
that beating Army and Maryland then going to crappy bowl
would be a bad bad thing for RU, because this will give false hope
to the people in charge.

They needed to win today to have any real chance a a bowl.

The program is in need of a cash infusion, $ that directly translate to improving athletic dept staff, coaching staff, facilities, player recruitment. Until those $ come into play, the product will not improve.

RU cannot afford to wait for B1G $ to flow in. What's needed is an all-out blitz to get donors to step up and contribute, donors great and small. Until that happens, what you see is what you get. Our program will only consistently compete with Nebraska, MSU, and Wisconsin when we have a working FB budget that matches those schools. Once there, then it's onto the next level of consistent competitiveness: PSU, Michigan, OSU.

It is about $. Plain and simple. Give what you can. If you do not participate, if you refuse to contribute in protest, you are only working against the outcome you want.

I ain't even mad. Had an enjoyable tailgate, came into the stadium after kickoff, sighed when looking at the near empty student section and hearing R-U chants drowned out by "go Big Red". The good players made by Our players were cheered, and the numerous bad plays and/or decisions by players and coaches alike were just laughed at. I am happy to pledge money, ONLY toward a new head coach at the moment

I have enough from this seasons tailgating, quality of opponents, and fun nighttime October games to make it through this season on emotional fumes, if the status quo is maintained into next season, though, I'm afraid that full fan apathy will set in.

The team I help coach (Hawthorne) just won their semi-final game 12-0 vs a squad we lost to 26-7 earlier in the year. If it wasn't for this awesome group of kids this football season would be a complete waste.

As far as being upset about us/Rutgers losing, I sort of stopped caring after Wisconsin.

I'm happy we lost and I hope we lose to Army. Flood needs to be fired ASAP. The more he is around, the more damage his does. Our house needs to burn to the ground in order to rebuild it.

So you went to the game or watched on TV and rooted for us to lose?

You are going to watch on TV, or go to Michie Stadium and root for us to lose to Army? Are you going to wear Rutgers gear?

Trust me, I am disgusted as much as anybody, but man, we actually have fans that root for these kids to lose? Do you have any idea how hard they work and how hard it is to be a student athlete?

I don't think I ever "expect" a loss. I know more likely than not we won't win most games. But when we lose, I'm upset about it. Always positives to pull but nonetheless always upsetting. Can't say I've ever been apathetic but I'm willing to bet it's coming (felt it against UM last week a bit)

I guess I don't understand the premise of the OP's question. Why would I ever be mad about RU losing a football game? Disappointed, sure. But mad? Nah.

for the first time in over 10 years I wasn't excited to watch a game and that reason played out in the first quarter. For the first time in over 10 years I turned the game off before it was over and was barely curious to see how it played out. I turned it back on a few times to check the score, but wasnt surprised or disappointed at the outcome, it was known before KO

As far as expecting a win I pretty much checked out after the Kansas game. It was after that game I realized how bad we were and how far we have fallen talent-wise under Flood. The one bright spot this season was MSU which I expected to be a blowout. I think some of these games (Neb, Wisc) might have been more competitive if Nutty were coaching and not Mr Classy.

The outcome of these games used to bother me much more than they do right now. Its a function of your expectations going in and I have resigned myself that most weeks are not going to be pretty. Where is the improvement from week to week? I don't see much.

Nebraska is a pretty poor team. If they could get the hell out of their own way, they would have hung a lot more on us. It seems like the only chance we have of scoring is by us getting a turnover or special teams (ie Grant) play. We simply cannot move the ball otherwise.
I wouldn't bet a nickel on the Army game. Playing academies demands the defense to disciplined. They will get damned tired pretty quickly with the amount of time they will be on the field. Maryland is better than us, and that is the end of this Knightmare of a season.

It's real unfortunate that RU fans have to think in this manner in order to feel something will be done by the Admin about Flood coaching at Rutgers. It shouldn't have to come to this.
