Said it before and I'll say it again. Some of you seem to be more upset about this than the storming of the Capitol a few days ago. Most of you are just bitter old bastards who choose to log on and pick a topic to be angry and frustrated about. It's a Sunday morning, and some here are fuming over some teens kneeling before a game. A game in which we crushed Florida btw. I mean, we finally have a little winning streak going, and you CHOOSE to be angry over something else. Next week, you'll all be bitching about another topic. Just fake *** outrage.

Y'all can argue the protest angles but I highly doubt anyone on the business side of things gave it a thumbs up. People's interest in college sports was already waning pre-COVID so angering any amount of fans (for whatever reason) is not ideal in the current economic climate.

The small amount of fans we’d lose because of players making a statement would be made up by new younger fans. Wash.

The timing is my biggest issue. This was NOT the week to start this when we as a nation desperately need to come together and have cooler head's prevail.
It was an awful decision to do this yesterday because regardless of the intent, EVERYONE knows it's extremely divisive, and was the absolute last thing this state and fan base needs.

Shame on whoever approved this, and didn't use the UK platform to instead push unity and healing after this awful week.
GOP. Unity. And. Healing.

If kneeling for the anthem offends you, then do not knee during the anthem. Leave the rest of us alone. It's really that simple.

Exactly this.

I stand. I don't care if the kids or anyone else sits or kneels.

It's a free country. Mandatory patriotism is for Iran, China and North Korea.

Seeing a bunch of "it's divisive" type posts from the "f your feelings" crowd is hilarious, hypocritical ********.

Calipari answered OPs question in his post game presser btw. He said a group of players approached him on the bus with the idea. He asked them if they wanted him to do it with them. They said yes. So he showed his support.

And I think we have drastically different definitions of leadership because that is quintessential servant leadership. Ignoring wins and losses, that’s what he should do.

Proud of my team.

This is a picture of the team kneeling during the National Anthem during today's game.

Everyone knows they have a RIGHT to do so... (not wanting to talk about that).

But not only the players, the coaches and administrators know how provocative and inflammatory this is...

So,

Do you think President Capulito, or Barnhart ultimately approved this? And why?

Both ...

We can play your stupid game all day, GTFO with your soy boy opinions.

Haha what is even a “soy boy?” One needs to be banned. The other needs to leave. You cannot handle conflicting opinions just like the rest of you leftist rats. Haha. Must suck to want people gone you cannot eliminate from the board OR physically if you had the chance

Nonsense. George Soros paid actors to do it. That's why they played so well last night. All of our guys who don't make the league end up answering Craigslist ads to be George Soros operatives for Antifa. I have screen grabs that prove Daniel Orton was in the Capitol Wednesday.

As a veteran and watching the disintegration of our country, especially our youth, every person between the ages of 18-22 should be required to serve 2 yrs in one of the branches of service unless their is mental or physical disability.
Well. Alright.

Proud of my team.

OP never really gave a damn about who approved it. He just wanted to let everyone know how upset he was and that he disagreed with it. Because this whole players kneeling thing is such a brand new concept.

How do you think it ends up if Cal tells the players they can’t kneel for it? It might make you feel upset now to see it but how would you feel if you reinforced the media’s view that we are the racist school? They’d be chomping at the bit to make a very prominent example of UK. How do you feel about it then?
WEll, as an employee of a government organization, he would be violating the Constitution if he refused to allow it.

Interesting you mention the disintegration of the country and youth, meanwhile a damn insurrection took place a few days ago where idiots much older than our team tried to cause chaos and hunt down specific politicians. Maybe focus more on older people believing everything they see on social media and a little less on a peaceful kneeling before a game.

Allowing it or not is different than explaining to these children that their unAmerican movement is based on lies.

Real leadership would explain to these kids that BLM is a lie. There are plenty of competent individuals who would be willing to sit down with Cal, UK and the kids to show them the truth.
