I'm completely convinced that kneeling for the National Anthem hurts the Kentucky basketball program very badly. It's going to hurt everything associated with Kentucky basketball, including the sales of Kentucky related goods and this forum. Cal and the players are putting everybody that benefits from Kentucky basketball on the spot. The big money boosters definitely will put their wallets back in their pockets.

And actually, I can't think of anything positive that it does for anything.

This was one of the points of starting this thread....

Failure of leadership (the other main point), in my opinion, from Cal and anyone above him that signed off.

I'm completely convinced you're being overly dramatic, but that's your view. And who are the big money boosters who will definitely put their wallets back in their pockets? Do you know them? Have you talked to them today? Are they offended? Or are you definitely talking out of your ***?

OP never really gave a damn about who approved it. He just wanted to let everyone know how upset he was and that he disagreed with it. Because this whole players kneeling thing is such a brand new concept.
Exactly. That's The entire reason four pages of crap just happened. Because OP couldn't just go out and buy a journal for his feelings.

it’s a discussion forum but you guys seem married to the censor any dissenting opinion strategy your government is planning to use. It’s amazing how poor the future of the United States is now

There's a political thread that's specifically for this. But you guys seem obsessed with expressing yourselves about how other people shouldn't be expressing themselves.

is it your job here to direct traffic? If you agreed with the points, would you be so passionate about directing the traffic somewhere else OR are you just trying to control the narrative the leftist way? Which is it?

Yes. All politics belongs in the political thread. That's why it exists. And the reason is because all political threads devolve into this. Getting rid of the political board was the worst thing this site ever did. I haven't seen a single political post literally ever where anyone said "Hey, thank you, sincerely. You've given me a lot to think about. I didn't realize other people had that experience because it's something I've never faced. This changes things." But I have seen hundreds of them where people call each other dipshits.

but answer the question.... you’d be telling people they aren’t supposed to have or express an opinion even if it were on the political thread, right? The only reason you care so much here is you disagree

it’s control the narrative and censor with you people. Always

You're clogging up the board when a political thread exists. Not my fault you can't follow directions.

No, this wasn't intended to be political if you re-read carefully,....

This was about UK Leadership...

Was trying to keep politics out of it, though they're intimately intertwined, here...

It's why I put this in the General Discussion Forum...

its funny how poorly they handle being accused of utilizing ulterior motives while they try to control the narratives of others by accusing them of having ulterior motives hajw

I’m caught up. You failed to answer the questions.

you accuse the OP of ulterior motives in an effort to control the narrative. My question is if he had been celebrating the kneeling stating how glad he is to see it if YOU would be here trying to direct him to the political thread just the same

we both know the answer to that. Control the narrative

You saw three threads whining about it get deleted so you tried to phrase it differently to fool the mods into allowing it so you could whine about it, and apparently it worked. And you know that.

Why are you so outraged over it? You act as if they said they did it because they hate America and all the men and women who died for this country. That is not their message

Whatever...

Am becoming less impressed with Cal

More impressed with Dabo Swinney and those like him

Disappointed with UK Administrators who can't figure out how to get in front of this... AND if they allowed this (why I asked the question), then it should be noted as such...

Allowing it or not is different than explaining to these children that their unAmerican movement is based on lies.

Real leadership would explain to these kids that BLM is a lie. There are plenty of competent individuals who would be willing to sit down with Cal, UK and the kids to show them the truth.

Doesn’t fit the narrative and is much harder than symbolism.

NO. Notice I said "If it bothers you, don't read it". You can say anything you want, but you are NOT the dictator here.
I can say what I want just like you. I love how you started with "NO!" and ended with "you are not the dictator here."

As dictator of this message board, I decree this thread is stupid. It is now official truth that can not be disputed.

Imagine if people cared about stopping wild ***
Conspiracies and cult like behavior from antifa and Q as much bad they did about kneeling. Good lord.

Like I said, you can say anything you want. If this thread is so stupid, why are you in it? Stupid is as stupid does.

It sounds like you're trying to censor my freedom of expression! I'm here to express that this thread is stupid.

Then plz stop wasting your time, here, and go away...to the political thread...

Colin Kaepernick is intimately associated with kneeling during sporting events--can even say he kick-started the modern era civil disobedience in Sports (don't want to argue this, though)... it became very divisive, and it hurt the NFL.

Why would UK think this would be good?

So, no, I don't know what the team was protesting, because they didn't tell us... but I do know what it may symbolize.
