This is a picture of the team kneeling during the National Anthem during today's game.

Everyone knows they have a RIGHT to do so... (not wanting to talk about that).

But not only the players, the coaches and administrators know how provocative and inflammatory this is...

So,

Do you think President Capulito, or Barnhart ultimately approved this? And why?

Various players and teams have literally been kneeling for the anthem for years at this point.

You guys who want to spew off your hot take outrage for this please run off to Facebook. No one gives a damn about your opinion on the subject.

Then you don't have to reply.... Obviously, the question wasn't for you.

If it's not so inflammatory, then why did three of these topics get locked over on the bball board?

Doesn't matter who is doing it and for how long. It's disrespectful and flat out WRONG.
I've talked to a lot of long-time, diehard UK fans tonight and they are all VERY unhappy about this.
My guess is Calipari didn't get approval from anyone to do it. Why would he need to? He answers to no one.
And please....spare me the "you're not a real UK fan" nonsense. That's a weak argument and without substance.

My guess is Cal got approval at some level above him..... Just too inflammatory of a topic to drag the University into without prior approval...

LOL! Is that idiot still seeing a "noose" in his garage? LOL!

I wasn't trying to make this discussion about kneeling or not....

To me it seems very tone deaf to many UK supporters/graduates of the University, etc. Those kids may have very good reasons why they are kneeling, and it would be helpful if they articulated it before doing such an inflammatory move that offends many fans.

The Administrators had to know this would create a "buzz", and approved it.....

Those kids don’t need your approval to express themselves.

You know this is going on all across the world, right?

Is it based on the truth? Do police intentionally kill unarmed black people, or do more black people get killed by police because they commit a higher percentage of crime per capita? What does the data say?

Do you think our players could discuss that? It would be nice to know, wouldn’t it?

Why does intention matter if it's happening? What if they unintentionally kill unarmed black people?
Are Black people arrested and convicted of more crime per capita because black people are inherently more prone to crime than white people? Or is there something else that causes it? I certainly hope you don't think it's the former.

Do you think our players couldn't discuss that? Have you ever looked at yourself to see why you jump to that conclusion? It would be nice to know, wouldn't it?

The answers to your first questions require your own research.

As for the second question, I have no idea if they can discuss it or not, but I think they should. Maybe Cal can have them do a presser.

Lastly, your attempt to paint me as a racist for asking basic questions is pitifully weak.

Kneeling during the national anthem is an ineffective and counterproductive way to promote a cause.
Clemson University football coach Dabo Swinney said in a press conference: “I don’t think it’s good to be a distraction to your team. I don’t think it’s good to use your team as the platform.” President Obama expressed concern that not standing for the national anthem can get in the way of the message...

This is obviously in line with my beliefs and many others to a certain degree.... but not everyone's of course.

Maybe if the team articulated what they were protesting, then we could have the conversation from there....

Why is kneeling disrespectful to the flag? Isn't kneeling before something showing MORE respect than standing in front of something?
Explain what is being done.

Well, if you look up the US Flag Code, you will see it is a federal breach of that code. It’s disrespectful to our nation but it does not come with consequences. People en mass do it the same way for a reason, and those who kneel are disrespectfully breaking federal US Flag Code

they're following the lead of Lebron and Draymond Green and Doc Rivers who live in this fantasy world of oppression where facts and statistics don't exist and you should pay no attention to their bank accounts

I don't blame the team, the world is ****** and they're no different than most 19 year olds

True story: if people want change they should show up at the meetings of police and teacher unions to kneel. They should demand that unions not be able to give money to politicians. How
Is it possible that Derek Chauvin had not been removed after so many complaints?

Insulting the population only divides and will drive away fans. It will never help fix the root of the problem.

I don't blame the team, either, but trying to put the focus on their mentors at the University.... WTH are they doing to help guide them through these land mines?

No one needs to approve it. Free country. If you don’t like it find a new team. My team is on the court. Period
