multiple losses to SE Louisiana, and has lost to such powers as Northwestern State and Akron as well

The loss last night was awful and I'm not excusing it....but Cohen deserves 4 years before judgement is passed

Any new coach should be entitled to 4 years in my opinon.

However, Stansbury has NEVER lost to Jackson State. We were 3-0 against them before last season according to the media guide and we also beat them in the NIT this year. Speaking of SE Louisiana, you are aware our baseball team was swept at home by them earlier in the year.

Point being as bad as it has been for Stansbury I can't recall him losing to a SWAC school, period. I think its pretty damn clear the SWAC is if not the worst at least in the bottom 3 of conferences every single year in all sports.

I am fully aware that Stansbury has never lost to a SWAC school, but he does have some embarrassing losses on his resume also

nor does he have to this day any type of conference title on his resume as a head coach. Crooms had nothing to show any previous success.

Cohen has plenty.

Any comparision to Crooms is ridiculous

2 conference championships at Northwestern State while he was there, and his last 3 years at Kentucky he went 44-17, 34-19, 44-19

I agree with you that Cohen or any new coach should be given 4 years. Fact is you are tougher on Stansbury than any other coach we have ever had including Croom. It should also be pointed out that he is the most succesful coach we have right now but you have the shortest leash on him. And he has never had a loss to a SWAC school. SWAC schools are on the bottom of any sport. Losing to Rider is not nearly as bad as losing to a SWAC school. If we are a complete flop in basketball next season and don't have more than the one committ from the 2011 class that we have now, I will be ready to join in your bandwagon of offing Stansbury. Call me old fashioned I am a results oriented guy, until Stansbury has bad (not mediocre) results he shouldnt go.

to Louisiana College and Centenary too I think...should he have been fired over it?

I dont like losing to them either, but the **** does happen- especially when you are ****** and rebuilding because Polk's last 2 classes couldnt even make the top 40 in recruiting rankings

I dont like where we are either- John has 2 years left to fix it

if not for his resume, I'd wonder if Cohen has a 17ing clue what he's doing.

It's time to stop living off the resume. As Dawgstudent has pointed out, he isn't a lowly paid coach just hoping to make us respectable. He's one of the highest paid coaches in the country. And so far, he hasn't earned ONE 17ING PENNY OF HIS SALARY!!!! He should offer MSU to take a pay cut.

Stansbury has had some head scratching losses but he has never had a season that made me want to hang my head in shame like the one Cohen is putting together. I am not saying I want Cohen fired but if this happens again then I would be in favor of only giving him 3 years.

and once he has been here 7-8 years, I will expect to have been in the College World Series a couple of times

And your one trick sucks. You should OD on your anti-depressants tonight. And, yes, I know for a fact you take them. Not even you can keep from hating you.

that was partially because he scheduled really really easy games. in 2008 he only lost 1 regular season non-sec game, but went 16-14 in sec. he lost 2 "nonconference" games in the sec tournament. he lost 2 more in the ncaa tournament. in 2007 he went 34-19 and didn't make the ncaa tournament b/c the rpi was too low.

i'm not for firing cohen or anything, but the records by themselves are misleading

edit to say that 2006 was a very good year. also, 16-14 at kentucky is good
