I was just thinking about Conner and his decision. It will probably be just like many before him that went up the road to Oxford. None of the past few have seemed to pan out up there.

I was trying to come up with some answers but ending up with nothing.

Anyone that can provide some help is appreciated.

ETA: Sorry, guys. I meant last 5star player FROM SOUTH PANOLA to do well.

Unless you consider Schaeffer or Powe to have played really well, you would have to go back to Michael Oher. Am I right?

Who was the last 5 star player from South Panola before Conner? According to Scout, it was Derek Pegues, so they haven't signed a 5 star player from South Panola since 2002.

What does "panned out" mean?

He's a solid player, but I have to wonder what "panned out" means applied to a four or five star player if simply being an average starter is enough.

I think CJ Johnson has definite all SEC and NFL potential, personally. As a true sophomore, he led his team in sacks. That's about what you'd want out of his career arc, especially considering there isn't Alabama or LSU talent surrounding. He's a good player.
