I truly think if ER wasn't recruiting kids from different school and played with what they have in there build they wouldn't be talk about that much. But look who you're talking about ER. These are the school that lost kids too ER. SWR, RHS, Chatham Central HS Bear Creek NC not Chatham Georgia. I can go on and on about the recruiting they do and no one will say anything. What you guys are doing over there you are bound to get caught and the sad part about it if those kids are that good colleges will find them no matter where they go to school. I know for a fact the coach at Chatham Central has kids playing right now in college. I know because when I talk to him it not about the wins and losses. It education Like he said to me everyone want to play D1 but you have to have D1 grades.

Going with eye test fro m what I have seen on film of ER and there schedule I would say they have best shot. MA has a very good chance but will have to step it up against better competition. I wish we had some stats on ER but they do not list any. At all!!!

Don’t say stuff like to the mighty Gentle. He may not be able to handle it.😂
He is full of himself for sure. Take him with a grain of salt and don’t judge all the good Robbinsville faithful by him. I guess he never was taught how not to be a sore loser and a humble winner because he is quick to brag and the first to make excuses. Where is those stats when they lose LMBO. Carry on men !! It’s Playoff time

And Andrews is in the cellar again..where we all knew they would be..Hard to believe some of the folks on here crowning them SMC and state champions when they were 5-0..

Seen ER play in playoffs in 2019 against West Stokes. Are they better this year talent wise? They had a highly recruited receiver that year but I thought their play calling was suspect. Probably had the better team that night.

Looked like as good as any thread to post this...
Highschool OT lastest and I guess last playoff projection for the 1A West...I would say I don't know why they'd have Thomasville ahead of Robbinsville unless my math is way off ( which is entirely possible) unless there's a sizable difference after Friday in their oopw ether subtracting from R or adding to T or combination of both. I'd like to see their numbers and see what I'm doing wrong but I would have them swapping places......

1A West seeds

1 Eastern Randolph (1-seed)
2 Mount Airy (1-seed)
3 Mitchell (1-seed)
4 Mountain Island Charter (1-seed)
5 Thomas Jefferson (1-seed)
6 Thomasville (1-seed)
7 Robbinsville (1-seed)
8 Starmount
9 Murphy
10 Mountain Heritage
11 Swain County
12 North Rowan
13 South Stokes
14 Andrews
15 Cherokee
16 East Wilkes
17 Draughn
18 Elkin
19 Carver
20 North Stokes
21 Bessemer City
22 Hayesville
23 Cherryville
24 Bishop McGuinness
25 Christ the King
26 Alleghany
27 Highland Tech
28 Albemarle (1-seed) ( wasn't .500+)
29 Union Academy
30 South Davidson
31 South Stanly
32 Avery County

Went with ER, but if healthy I could see Rville making a run. Don’t hold it against me but still not sure on MA. However, their defensive numbers are ridiculous and they will be a tough out. Who know about any others. Murphy maybe? Mitchell don’t see it this year

Old mountaineer highschool ot does projections based on how rpi's are now...they don't predict future playoffs I don't think. Which is why Thomasville is higher.

I would give mitchell more credit. If the same team that showed up at the pit shows up all through the playoffs I’d give them as much of a shot as anyone. Y’all held back on play calling that night. Could have been worse than it was.

Okay makes since but I thought they must have been thinking ahead because they were assuming that Robbinsville will win the conference.

Be careful. They will be better next year than this year. That undefeated JV class from a few years ago will be seniors next season….unless I’m mistaken. Correct me if I am.

It’s Robbinsvilles to lose the next 2 years. Loaded.
Robbinsville will be a favorite and the top 1A team in this area but theirs to lose is a little much. Mount Airy is just as loaded in the 10th grade class, possibly even more so.

I've beat Robbinsville's drum as much as anyone outside of Robbinsville on here as far as the talent they have coming up but there's another team or two in the 1A west that will be on that level too. That's not even counting Tarboro who you know will be back to juggernaut status in the next year or two.

Gotta love how random disgruntled people show up to make their first post ever just to bash a school. Maybe the kid uses grandmas address or cousin Sues to go to a school of their choosing but it happens everywhere. The team is not assembled with 22 out of county kids. Tell us more about the Harvard scholars Chatham Central is rolling out down there. I can't imagine why anyone from there with a promising sports future would want to try and go to school somewhere else.

If I had to pick, I’d take Mt. Airy. But I’ll say this….It hasn’t happened yet, but IF (key word) Murphy stays healthy and gets the kinks worked out in all three phases of the game, then the Dogs will definitely have a say in who comes out of the west. Murphy could be a very dangerous team in the playoffs. A lot of key pieces back from last year’s state championship team.

Heard Coach Gillespie chewing on the Bulldogs after practice yesterday. I’d love to think Thomasville is in the mix, but I just don’t think we have the numbers to do that. Thomasville beat a lot of teams over the years because we two platooned..,even in 1A. Now, the two best players get hurt and it kills us on offense and defense. Lack of depth will keep us from getting past the second or third round. And, if #1 and #12 are still banged up, could be sooner.
I hope I’m wrong too. But I doubt it.

Unfortunately I've seen nothing to suggest the D is going to get to the level for them to truly compete. I'm certain they have the personnel to at least be decent on D but the puzzle pieces have not come together. They're trying, you can tell the D coaches are trying to find the right combinations and strike the right balance but it just hasn't come off.

One thing I will say is I have no idea why #55 wasn't kept at LB. Murphy has struggled at LB all year and he looked good when they moved him to LB and yet they've decided to move him back to DE. With the way the freshman #17 has looked at DE since he was moved up from JV, #55 should've been kept at LB.

What’s happening?
Nothing, but look down the line, do you see any of the current JV or midget teams in the conference being serious title contenders down the road in a unified 1A class, from purely a talent standpoint? I mean things can certainly change with kids that age and you can never discount the potential for transfers but as it stands I do not.
