We didn't get the answer last night so I thought I would rekindle this debate. ~5 years ago when the question was first posed the answer per this board seemed quite clear. Any changed opinions?

Neither. Medical research will eventually doom the game of football in 2075 with neither team having won the B1G.

Damn it!! I was hoping that by 2075 global warming would have made the climates of Florida, Texas and California like living on the sun and the Midwest would be the new recruiting hotbed for college football

Now that it's Sunday and Iowa is not the B1G champion, I am going to stick with Nebraska for my answer.

What do I win?

I am not going to live long enough to see it-I have been waiting since 1960 for the Vikings to win a Super Bowl Better then Cub fans as no one is alive the last time they won the Series

with recruiting tallied in it would appear to be the Huskers, they tend to land more highly ranked and sought after recruits. My guess is the Huskers, they have a big time QB comming in with a lot of highly rated Skill players, outside that there pretty equal when it comes to other positions recruited.

Nebraska's population will explode by then as large parts of those states will be under water.

Like a typical Iowa fan you're thinking small change. Which team will win a National Title first is the question. I may not live to witness the answer (I've got probably 25 seasons left), but I'd say with the importance that Nebraska places on football that it will most likely be Nebraska.

Capt Kirk is a good coach - but he has proven to be pretty mediocre most seasons with an occasional run for the B1G championship. And frankly - that is probably as good as most teams not named Alabama/Ohio State/Michigan can expect. Dude was on the hot seat going into the season. He does have his QB back next season - so they should make another run - but schedule gets harder with 9 conference games and adding Michigan and Penn State to the schedule. Non-Conf are all winnable - so expectations will be high. Can Iowa handle it?

The funny thing about Iowa teams over the years is they usually have done better when expectations are low, which is not good for next year. If Drew Ott receives a 6th year as he has applied for due to medical reasons and Desmond King came back they really could be in thetop 5 range, there is a lot back. But assuming those two difference makers move on more in the top 15 range.

if O'Brien or possibly Gebbia (if does come here) could be the difference. If one or both pan out we could compete with any team, again are skill guys are pretty good, right now it's The DE recruiting that has me a bit worried, we seem to be hitting solid for all other positions.

Well we all know Iowa is out of the running for the next 5 to 6 years based on past history. Maybe we can fit one in before iowa has another season where they are in contention?

With the large amount of players Iowa has coming back next season if we don't get to Indy again it will be a bust. It will be gravy if Ott gets his 5th year medical that he is after.

Based on that logic you would have to say Nebbie will be out of the running for the next 20 years based on past history. Just using your logic. Reality is a great qb can change everything for any team.

Could be...and out of the running??? We have played for 3 conference titles in the recent history. You have played for 1. If those odds stay the same, I would like our chances..

You guys are now entering the period where your confer schedule get s tougher - this was the last year of the really easy schedule - also this was one of those years where you win all your close games as opposed to losing - next year you are due to lose some close ones along with losing at least one cross over - short answer you are back to normal next year

Didn't Ott pass the threshold for games played? Would love to see him get a chance back but have doubts from the NCAA.

In all fairness our schedule gets a little more challenging getting Ohio (St) back on it next year...

They still dodge Ohio State and Michigan State. Yes it gets tougher, but not that tough. Miami (OH), Iowa State, and ND State rounds out their super tough out of conference schedule as well.

We both had easy schedules this year but normally NU plays the tougher confer schedule - Iowa for some reason has had easier confer schedules since NU joined the Big10

NU and Iowa since 2010 vs Wi, OSU,MI,MSU,PSU - I included PSU as even though down they still have better talent than most other confer schools

2011 NU - OSU,MSU,PSU,MI and WI went 3-2
Iowa - PSU,MI and MSU went 1-2
2012 NU - WI,OSU,MI,MSU,PSU went 4-1
Iowa - MSU,PSU,MI went 1-2
2013 NU - MI,PSU MSU went 2-1
Iowa - MSU,OSU,WI,MI went 1-3
2014 NU - MSU,WI went 0-2
Iowa - WI - went 0-1
2015 NU - WI, MSU 1-1
Iowa - WI ,MSU 1-1

So since we joined against these teams we have gone
9-7

Iowa has gone 4 - 9 - They have played OSU once

Iowa has a good team this year but make no mistake schedule played a large part - Yes we also had a weak schedule and yes we still sucked
